There are days I question the sanity of the entire world.
Watching some of Trump’s recent tweets, I’m seriously questioning his sanity right now.
Iran and Afghanistan are where empires go to die. History has proven it time and again. Persia has persisted for over 5,000 years through countless regime changes—same language, same core culture and history. Few others can say that.
Let me be crystal clear: I am not antisemitic. I am anti-Zionist. And the current government of Israel is explicitly Zionist. Empire-building has been their priority for decades, and any ally’s loyalty to them should always be viewed with skepticism.
Trump would be smart to keep the history of backstabbing front-of-mind when dealing with this group.

Tonight at 8pm Eastern we’ll know if the world tips over the edge. If Trump’s threat (“a civilization ceases to exist”) plays out, the retaliation from Russia, China, and everyone else will be catastrophic.
If he has a moment of clarity, admits he’s been played, and walks the U.S. away… we might get another chance.
But as Keen points out in the podcast, admitting failure is almost impossible for Trump’s personality type.
And if Israel pulls the Samson Option… same apocalyptic result.

Post posting update: There are things that Professor Keen mentions that I DO NOT Agree with. His view on Socialism/communism for one. His take that we haven’t ‘done enough’ about climate change (and long time readers know my stance on THAT mess.)
but his points about the economy and the implications of what this four week (five now?) mess have already done, and the long range applications if it continues,,,Even the short range ones if Trump carrys through,,,
but one thought that keeps coming to mind, and mentioned openly in that video is “the pump and dump scheme” IF, that is what really going on,,, That puts a whole new spin on just where our sitting president truly aligns, and its not a pretty picture. I’ll leave that right there for now. The deadline is still two hours out by my watch, I guess we will see. If you hear about DC going up under a mushroom cloud, I think you will know what direction things went,,,, If we are lucky enough to hold some infrastruture together to get information that is.
FINAL UPDATE TO THIS POST: Just saw that Trump made a statement that he is postponing the destruction of Iran for two weeks, and made statements that both sides are negotiating,,,,
Broken record skip,,, Seems this is the same song and dance we heard just a couple of weeks back and there were statements out of Iran claiming “Bullshit! We aren’t talking and WON’T!!!” So this could be circumstancial evidence for the Pump and Dump scheme mentioned in the above vid: “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”.
I can tell you this much. Trumps popularity on all fronts is waning And there are many in this world that are about sick of the games, including people within our borders. And thats one point in AI’s favor. AI is a tool, especially the LLM’s. Those are geared for such as myself, a jackleg wordsmith. There are times where I write a couple hundred words and ‘urk, grrk,, um,,, what was that supposed to mean?’ and I will copy and paste it into an LLM and say “HEP!” I’m a tool user, LLM’s are tools,,,,
The results are usually damned GOOD!!! And I even asked one once, “How do I emulate what you just did?” and it even coached me on how to write better. Don’t give it all away, make the feels the center, not the logic,,, And I’m paraphrasing some of it.

My greatest gripe with the modern world is simple: no one wants to read anymore. Messages are encoded in video clips rather than written form. When I click a video link, I immediately search for a transcript — I read and assimilate information far faster than video allows. Beyond speed, video tends to distract from the core message, which leads me to suspect that in this new AI-driven era of questionable reality, something or someone is deliberately engineering that distraction.
Lets take that in a different direction for a moment: The Bible, in ALL of its many variations. SO many texts left out in the original document as defined at the Council of Nicea, supported by Emporer Constantine. and for near 1000 years (after all the Gnostics and other ‘heretics’ were removed and buried, was (and in some places, still is) considered the word of GOD.
Then in 1945, some shepard found the “Nag Hammadi” texts (scrolls) and there were the Dead Sea Scrolls, many of which have been cross-referenced with the Ethiopian Bible that hasn’t been adulterated (we think) by Councils supported and financed by the Holy See or some emperor/king as a poke in the eye at some Pope. We’ve had mulitple divisions of the beliefs across the years; protestant, evangilical, baptist, and on and on and on.

I haven’t dropped out of society, even while I have rejected so much of our modern world by going off-grid and Hermit. I am NOT a Luddite: the fact that I am blogging on the internet using a modern ‘smartphone’ says that. BUT I am quickly reaching a consensus that much of our modern world is “TOO MUCH”. From our CanBus operated cars that can shut down because a daggum tail-light is out, or can be ‘jacked’ using what amounts to a tablet and a small two wire connection (that canbus thing again). The fact that most vehicles made after 2015 are not servicable by your local shadetree mechanic, let alone your DIY’er, but MUST be Dealer Serviced or by some operator that is able to pay the subscription fees to the dealer networks. (One guy local pays over $3000/yr for that privilege)
Or lets take it on another twist: all the updates to systems to ‘keep abreast of hackers or blackhat characters”. I gave up on Windoze after the last OS upgrade. I had roughly 80000 words written for my Wings sequel on that machine and couldn’t access it because the system was out of date. I couldn’t even backup the backup of it because of that issue. I blew the F! up, tossed that laptop into the yard, came back in, grabbed up my Henry and DUMPED the entire magazine into that damned machine. Yes, overkill, but when the battery burst into flames, OH SO SATISFYING at that moment.
All of this progress… yeah, it keeps profit flowing—that’s the point. Built-in obsolescence, baked right in to keep the economic current moving. But there’s a cost, and it’s a big one: the slow erosion of individual sovereignty. We don’t have the same independence we grew up with in the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s—back when a phone was tied to a place, not glued to your hand 24/7. Back then, when something broke, you figured it out—fixed it, patched it, repurposed it, made it work. Now? Something breaks and that’s it—you replace it, not because you want to, but because you can’t fix it anymore.
And honestly… I’m still surprised our landfills aren’t overflowing more than they already are
AH,,, and that brings me back around to the main point VOICE OF MAN. there is always a faction(s) in pursuit of CONTROL, and really, thats the main point behind our current ‘Progress” and “Tech trends”: ‘”Get ’em hooked, then ration the access. Keep ’em ‘just high enough’ and no more.” Some are harping that AI is gonna destroy us,. I won’t argue that point as there are people behind that tech that DO desire power over everything else. BUT, and here’s the punchline. AI is written by MAN. Even those that have written their higher forms were limited in scope by what MAN told it.
Our guiding principles were written by MAN claiming Divine Guidance: always a suspect statement because it requires ZERO proof and is completely CHARISMA fueled. No, I am not saying everything is wrong, We need structure/guidance or we would never have came down from the trees or lasted longer than the first tribal war.
Where’s the balance? TO be heard, you need a certain amount of power, (even here,, I borrow power to transmit these words, but beyond that I have so little power to reach further. You either get the message or you don’t and with my readership around LOW triple digits,,, I don’t reach many.) To have power in many instances is a heady drug, very addictive, and that leads to excesses, like we are seeing come to fruition in modern times vs those I grew up in. The times where I consider (now) that we were more free than EVER before or since. (and yes, I am biased for my formative years, just as you are your’n) I think the only way we, as a species were any more free was when we were banging the rocks together and tribe was IT, not this extended GOVERNMENT crap that, we may know the faces, but we can’t “Reach out and slap the Fucker when he most needs it”
And yet, those same ‘untouchables’ are the driving force behind our current state of dependence on tech.
No answers—just more questions… and that’s what pushed me inward. Reality’s a stone-cold bitch, no doubt about it, but I do believe our thoughts shape more of our current state than we give them credit for. And as long as the tech keeps humming along, the spiral continues—more dependence, deeper reliance, less self-sufficiency—until something gives. Because something always does. And when it finally fractures, when that reset hits… it’s not going to be gentle.

The illusion of ‘labels’

We’re human, with a ‘logic processor’ wired in our heads. Two spheres of brainium; left right. One tends to artistic creative and transient, the other logic reason, calculated, and oft-times ‘cold’,,, Its the one that actually keeps us alive more often than not IMO.
We actually have three brains upstairs in that cavity between our ears. One reptilian, one mammalian, and the squishy coral looking thingy that actually makes us human. There are sections inside that don’t actually communicate very well, like certain glands, but they DO have an input at times. Like the adrenal glands,,, they can have PROFOUND effects on the mammalian and reptilian aspects,,, hard enough that they can override the ‘human’ side. (that whole flight or fight thing)
Its been proven, that severing the link between right and left can cause all sorts of issues, so the two DO communicate. It was readily proven that the frontal lobes are where our emotions and emotional logic (bear with me) are harbored and that someone with issues of ‘overly emotional’ or even psychotic episodes that were emotionally driven, could be ‘cured’ (it wasn’t) with a Frontal Lobotomy,,,, Do some research on this and see how MEDIEVAL that certain ‘cure’ was,,, and how non-uniform the results were. Seriously fucked up shit right there, and was common practice in many institurions during the 50’s early 60’s (and later, but it was a dying trend.)

Think about it. We LABEL literally EVERYTHING,,, from our children (favorites, to ‘needs guidance’.) our ‘leaders’, naming our cars and trucks (guilty!!!) Its symbology at its finest. Our brains work with SYMBOLS, Words are symbols in their own right,,,
But what happens when we mis-label something?
It’s Not Apathy. We’re too quick to call it apathy. Someone stops caring, stops engaging, stops reacting—and the verdict is immediate: “They’ve quiet quit.”
But that’s not always true. Apathy is the easy label. It’s convenient.
It lets us move on without asking harder questions.
Because if it’s not apathy… then what is it?
Sometimes it’s exhaustion. Not the kind you fix with a good night’s sleep—but the kind that builds slowly. Layer by layer. Expectation by expectation. Until the system just… stops responding.
From the outside, it looks like indifference.
From the inside, it feels like overload. There’s a difference.
Apathy says: I don’t care.
Burnout says: I can’t keep caring like this.
And we confuse the two all the time.
We see someone go quiet and assume they’ve lost interest. But maybe they’ve just run out of fuel. We all run low, sometimes it more than we had,,, We see someone disengage and assume they’ve given up. Don’t do this,, maybe they’ve been carrying too much for too long.
Numbness isn’t always absence. Sometimes it’s protection. A system overwhelmed will shut things down—not out of laziness, but out of necessity.
Call it mental, emotional, even spiritual—whatever lens you want to use. The effect is the same: Less reaction. Less expression.
Less visible “care.”
And that makes people uncomfortable.
Because we’re used to visible signals—passion, anger, enthusiasm; Something we can measure.
Silence doesn’t fit that model.
So we label it; Apathy.
But labels can be wrong, and like much of the world, labels are ILLUSIONS
And when you misdiagnose the problem,
you miss the solution.
Because you don’t fix burnout by demanding more passion. You don’t fix overload by adding more weight. Sometimes the answer isn’t pushing harder. Sometimes it’s stepping back.
Resetting; Letting the system come back online.
So no—
it’s not always apathy.
Sometimes it’s something far more human than that.

I essentially predicted the bullshit of Jan6, and when I heard there were going to be protests then, I stated it then, “NOPE! NOT GOING,, this is going to be a goat rope of backstabbing Agencies and people are going to suffer.”
I hate it when I’m right.
Shit only reinforces my pessimism. I want to be a positive person, loving of my fellows and tolerant of the not so deserving,,, I just get more and more curmudgeonly as time passes.
The stuff going on in the world right now,,, Only one answer to it. Cease and desist, admit you fucked up, OWN YOUR BULLSHIT, and be willing to pay the price.

Here is what I find telling about the stink in the first link. That we are so far compromised as a country that there are people within the borders, people that were born here, raised here, have never traveled more than a 100 miles from place of birth, and have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what citizenship means,,, They know they are Americans, they’ve been told so thier entire lives: but ask one what it means and “Deer in headlights” is the look you get. They don’t know. They were told this, but it was never explained. “Civics” was a course during my HS classes, and was phased out of curriculum sometime in the 90’s. Not gonna ask why,,, wouldn’t do me any more good to ask that than to ask why they eliminated the insane asylums.(same people/mentality that did one, did the other, and the end results are ALL around us now, aren’t they?)

Update on the Da: Appointment went well, did another round of steroid boosters and given the greenlight on surgery IF Da wants to go that route. He decided to hold off until the next follow-up to decide on that (GOOD!!! Three Cheers from the Kids Table!!!) He was also told that he can quit the PT IF and ONLY IF, he continues the exercises on his own. He’s been good about it so far, and with the weather turning for the better, I can see that becoming a habit on his part. He wants out of that house and to get out of that house, he needs to MOVE,,,, Movement is whats going to improve him, not sitting and wallowing in pain and misery

Chasing down property owners: Yeah,,, that one is startin’ to scare the ever lovin’ fuck out of me. One peice that Da is interested in, in particular, has me questioning my sanity to ‘stay put’. See, lady died, willed her prop to her grandson. He in turn ‘sold it’ to a pawnshop for some stoopid silly low amount (to pay off his dealer I hear, but thats gossip mind you,,,) Literally sold a property listed at 30K for $2000. Well, said pawnshop is no longer in business but thats the only addy we have to work with. Said addy was showing some signs I know and AVOID like the plague. No signage out front other than the old ‘pawnshop’ sign up top. But a streetlamp at head level, lit during full daylight hours. Front door unlocked but into a small ‘security vestibule’ painted all black and a guy met us there looking as thuggish as his overweight ass could look ( I carry a thuggish look on my scowling face in the norm and this guy was trying to out thug me I think.) What we found was an underground poker hall. And they weren’t real keen on our being there and asking questions,,, and I saw Thuggy come out and take a pic of the license plate as we pulled out. He’ll have one of his po-po bought and paid fors run it for him, to make sure we weren’t undercovers.
Hillbilly Mafia is a REAL THING, don’t ever let anyone tell you its a fable or bullshit. People die around here for knowing something they shouldn’t or saying something to the wrong ‘type’. Coyotes have to eat too, same as the worms and fish.
I’m not concerned about them running Da’s plate (we were in his truck) but I DO try to avoid those situations as much as I can. I want Da to forget about this property ASAP, but thats not in my call. He needs SOMEWHERE and he is doing some digging of his own. I can only hope that that one ain’t the end result. Too many redflags attached to it now and ‘just buying it’ won’t remove them, not for some years.
BlooTwuck stuf: Bidness cards are in and in my paws. Still need to make her a solid addition to my little world, but thats forthcoming with a block. How long out, No-idear,,, close though. Gonna hold off on putting the cards out, except to a select few, for the time being. I really feel Bloo is not ‘just’ the transport of tools, but something of a ‘brand icon’ as well.
