At least a little bit. BCE posted linkage to it on his site last week. Sarahs posted it in her weekly Book Bleg this week.

And I had a moment (sorta) from the book today. Was out in the shop, lathe fired up doing some Q&D machining to make a part fit (ordered correct, part was ‘close but no ceegar’ and read in reviews this was a common issue) just a leetle off the center to make fit (loose sliding fit is fine)
And Rage against the Machine came on. I started cracking up, serious giggle fest in order as that whole scene came rushing back into me head. (And no more of that, NO Spoilers!)
I may write fiction, but there is always more than a little reality mixed in.
Lane change: parts ordered for mower deck repair/upgrade. $114 after taxes. Hope to get a few years more outta ol’Judy. Found push mower behind Unks shed, dragged it over here with the idea to ‘prime it and see’. Fired first pull ran about 30 seconds and died. Put some fresh gas in a dry tank amd try again. Ran about a minute (same deal, first pull) and died
5 minutes later, fired on first pull, ran 1 minute, died.
Carburator.
$14 @ Zon, and still free shipping from first purchase.
I could clean this ‘un and get some time with it; but the bloody things are so cheap, cleaning them sometimes makes the problem worse. Just buy and replace. They are so daggum cheap, they sweeten the deal with gaskets, air filter and a new plug. Fuggit, send it baby!
And its a self-propelled model, and that part works too.
The arsenal for the war on weeds is growing, and thats a good thing since my battle field is getting even bigger.
In other news, cleaned that nasty fridge out, and everything in it went to the burn pile. No idea how old the stuff was, and wasn’t willing to risk it. And I shut down the trailer. Power off at mains inside, at mains on pole (still need the meter pulled, but the place ain’t pulling any Kw’s now.) and shut the water off and drained the water heater and lines. Door to back porch is now shut and 2-3″ decking screws ran through the lintle into the door itself to secure it. I had it closed and locked, or so I thought, but apparently thats an illusion. When I went over Saturday mornin, that door was ‘open’, and I could tell someone had been in the place. Not much there to steal, but its the principle. They won’t be getting in that way anymore.
If I were to use the property for in the future, that door and frame will be replaced. Along with a new Heatpump, and a top to bottome scrubbing.
And Pest control would be brought in. Getting under the trailer to shut off the water was hateful. FLEAS. Spiders I can deal with, but while I was under there, they were all over me, even with the Bug repellant I soaked my jeans and shirt in the night before. (Yah, I was expecting something like this.)
Oh, and Buffalo shit the bed today. Was able to get her idling, but no throttle would get her moving. And I think packrats are making the situation worse, because she showed no Oil pressure but showed oil on the stick. I can’t see an oil pump die from sitting, but I can see a mouse chewing wires apart from the same. I’ll know more when I start tearing into her. Soon,,, just not ‘right now’… Still too much on my plate.

Its back to the J.O.B. tomorrow. Hopefully, maybe, my new bank card will arrive. This not being able to make deposits is killing me routine. And I am sure some accountant at the bank is looking at my numbers thinking there is a problem upcoming, not knowing the dealio with the bank card. My accounts look down right EMPTY right now, after paying the bills I could with what was there. Dio sees numbers like that and Dio NOT happy.
anyblubberguppies, it’s been a day, that felt more like three, gotz some stuff accomplished, other stuff prepped for when parts arrive, and made some stuff work when it wouldn’t otherwise, so it wasn’t a wasted weekend. My only grump: it wasn’t a weekend with a kayak under me. I really need to work on a rack for BLoo so she can haul a boat. Otherwise, my kayaking days have to wait for Buffalo to be brought back to life. (and that is one hell of an incentive to get Bizzy, ain’t it?) I could really use some water therapy with all the fun and games of the last few months. The fun and games that don’t look ‘finished’ yet. More of that “Soon” outlook,,, yay

Around these parts here in Floriduh…Last week , the old lady called from work. Says her Toyoyo is running rough , and she didn’t want to try driving it home.
sooo I jump in my Toyoyo to go rescue her….and mine starts spitting and farting too !! Wouldn’t idle and I had to go fifteen miles to her job site. Had to pop it into neutral and keep raving it to keep it running. Not fun on a six lane road at rush hour.
got out to her job,,, yup it’s sick , both hers and mine ! So I tells her, let’s lock yours up and leave it till the morning and decide then if it’s drivable home or requires the hook
made it back home with my sick truck and had a friend take me to get hers the next day.
fixed mine with a new set of plugs, cap and rotor and wires. Yes it is that old. Had a bad coil wire arching to ground …easy peasy eh.
hers , not so much… code reader said miss fire #3. Swapped out that coil with a new one. Ran like a raped ape for about five miles and started running rough again, coded #3 again, shit…pulled that plug (very dark brown rich burn) so put new plug in that hole and checked for spark . Still no joy.
so did a compression test on that cylinder. 175…damn, gotta be an injector or sumpin electronic…
of course it’s a bitch to get to. GOD I hates newer cars and electronic computer controlled injection and ignition.
Gimme a carb and points …
what are the odds , of owning two Toyota mini trucks and both breaking down at the same time hmm ?
I used to like wrenching on my own cars. When I was younger and everything not buried in plastic crappola
