Crack-A-Boom!

Eek! Runaway, runaway!!!

Shop work on that Rollin’ gate I mentioned. Hit a point where i needed to go to Twuck to to get a tool and saw local showers hiding the hills nearby. That means I have about 2 minutes before they are on top of me. Roll up wind-ers, close side boxes while getting the tool I needed, run back inside as the drops start pattering down around me and on me.

Pull up the weather app and look at national radar. This system is big enough its gonna be around a bit.

CRACK-A-BOOM!!!

ACK!!!

Shut down welder, unplug from wall and cover her up. I’m done today. (this welder has a computer inside it to regulate the inverter side. don’t wanna fry that.)

I can wait out rain, but I WILL NOT play with DC current when Mama-nature is tossing the really hot stuff around the sky. Probably safe enough, and maybe its more superstitious paranoia on my part, but I’d rather not find out the hard way that my superstitious nature was right.

Home: weather intimidating ‘real work’ right now. Gotzta t’inkin’ “camp trip this weekend, hasn’t paddled since October,, “. That had me realize “gaskets on dry suits might need attention”, so pull ’em out and grab bottle of 303. Got lucky. One wrist gasket was feeling a bit sticky but all the rest were just fine. Cleaned and relubed anyway; preventative maintenance.

I’m iffy on Buffalo for camping trip. That misfire is worse. At least to me. Dad seemed to not notice, (or chose not to say) but Burnout made comment ‘ she sounds like some one cammed the hell out of her.‘ Yeah, she’s gotta lopey idle, and rough in the lower gears. Smooths out upper limits, but I feel power loss.
