Went and got me ears lowered today too. LONNNNGGGGGGG Overdue,,, probably lost 3# in weight and froze my butt off when going to the grocery store, so at least 20degrees cooler as well. It’s that time of year again,, sweat in the eye-orbs and itchy beard when out workin’. Gotta love summer, far better than freezin’ the tuckus off in winter: at least in my opinion.

Brudda B says I shaved 15 years off too. I don’t look near as grey after they trim off all that hanging silver. Anybaggaboobawitz, lets get into it.

So, something I read earlier this week: Berkshire Hathaway Holding Company. (BHHC) is holding roughly 400 million in cash. They cleared several investments to generate the cash fund.

Now, some are gonna ask ‘why would they do that?’

Short answer: They are expecting shit to FAIL in a big way. The guy holding actual cash can buy for pennies on the dollar when everyone is in full on panic mode. After the dust clears and confidence starts to return, that cash will have been converted into REAL ASSETS, not just paper holdings.

All of that assuming that the “Dollar” doesn’t go the way of the dodo and vanish into the smoke it actually is. Even there, if they move the decimal place a couple digits to the left, the guy holding 400 million will still have 4 million where everyone else is holding a couple bucks.

Money talks, bullshit walks isn’t just a cliche.

Here’s my question: ‘what does Mr. Buffet know that, or suspect he knows, that the man in the street only feels as a tightening of the wallet?’

Funny how questions answer themselves when you ask them in the right way, ain’t it?

While out and about today, stopped at the China-Mart for stuff I can’t get elsewhere locally, and did some price comparisons while there. Quarts of oil, not synthetic, not premium grade, are equivalent to a couple gallons of gasoline at current prices. Thats an 8:1 ratio in cost. Now consider this information,,,

When a standard 42-gallon barrel of crude oil is processed, a refinery typically outputs about 45% gasoline (petrol), 26% diesel (distillate fuel), 9% jet fuel, and 20% other petroleum products. [1, 2, 3, 4]

That 8:1 ratio is pretty close, though explaining it in ‘common’ usually draws blank stares or deer in headlights looks. I know that look, I get it daily and have learned to just shut the F! up.

So long as the Straits of Hormuz are in contention, this isn’t going away. That area may only handle 25% apx of the worlds oil consumption, but that 25% stranglehold is letting the speculators run wild. And the longer it ‘holds’ the less likely many of those oil fields will come back online. I don’t know the actual science behind it, but I do know that when you stop pumping for a significant amount of time, getting the pumps running again is costly, and sometimes futile.

Me think it’s time for some ‘heads of state’ to stop thinking with their egos and start thinking about the lingering after effects this shit is bringing on. The trickle down hasn’t really began yet. When it starts, it’s going to snowball into one helluva big mess. Here in the states, we are gonna feel it, but as Sarah says, “When the U.S. catches cold, the world gets pneumonia.”

That ‘the world gets pneumonia’ point is why BHHC is preparing their cash reserves: they are fixing to become major holders in many many areas.

Then I read that Peter Theil took his family and ran to Argentina: even went so far as enrolling his kids in school there. What does HE know? (or is this in response to growing negative outbursts about AI? I mean, he is a key builder of such, like DataCenters and over-reaching surveillance systems.). Is he running away from a potential societal collapse, or is he running from the potential witch hunts forthcoming?

We live in interesting times, there can be no doubt. I try like heck to maintain an even keel in these waters, holding onto the remainder of sanity I still have (t’ain’t much mind you)

IF/when things break, they are gonna break in big ways. I know we are getting regular rumbles along the Madrid Fault lately, and Geographers have stated that fault is overdue. There is a major Backbone of the Internet that runs through the New Madrid area. Internet functionality is ‘life’ in this modern era. I’m not gonna hit the conspiracy side of things there but those are floating around too (energy weapons that are capable of inducing earthquakes. I have my doubts, but will leave that whole quagmire alone other than brief mention.

I can say this though: If someone(s) is/are paying attention, but not really delving deep into research, the trajectories of this planet could easily be given ‘Biblical’ attributes of End Times. Maybe the scribes that dictated those things had some way of seeing into the future and, not having our modern terminology, did the best they could to describe what they saw. Ain’t saying that is so, but it is a ‘fun’ mental exercise.

That was my Mid-day’ thinks before Mamakat insisted that I get on with being the adult Hoo-Man and get her her nibbles and stand watch against the Cozzimose thief. (who was quite comatose,,,) Since then, I started tearing into Bloo’s old block. No satisfactory findings as yet, but I’ve only accessed the top of the block. Need to turn it up and get the bottom apart. If things continue the improvements at the J.O.B. I may even take it to get it tested for cracks. I mean seriously, if there is nothing physically wrong with it, if I find this is just NOoBScrUwups, I can store the bloody thing and do a REAL rebuild later. (and the only thing I would really need besides gaskets, rings, and bearings, would be a NEW factory proportioned crank.). The saying “One is none” comes to mind with what we are feeling about the future. (and who knows, Buffalo may ‘get an upgrade’. ROFL)

What the heck do I mean by ‘NOoBScrUwups’? Seeing how I am not a noob at the wrenching thing. I hadn’t really done any serious wrenching since 2006 when I last built up an engine in my last X/1-9. Noob=Rusty as F!, and one thing I saw is leading me to think I did a goof. There was a lot of oil on the intake manifold gaskets. Way more than should have been on the faces of the gaskets.

And I can’t tell you I actually torqued those manifold bolts down. They were tight, but I can not recall torquing them. So there it is; the confession if you will. Still going to tear the block down to bare casting and give it a hell of a once through. The cylinders look excellent with no ridge on the walls (can’t feel any with a fingernail,,,) if that block is solid, it’s worth keeping.

and further thinking,,, Reading the comments section to the earlier post, I wasn’t saying I am quitting the writing thing, at least not until September of 2028. This domain name is paid in full ’til that time, so keep the ball rolling. I’ll decide when the bill to re-up comes due. And I agree with all of ya: I prefer reading over listening. Sadly, I do believe that is dying in the world. With all the go-go-go-GO! people do, many prefer something they can download and listen to when driving, working, whatever. Or that point I mentioned where they want to see the emotive side of things to help filter out AI slop. And there are a lot of utoob channels that are 100% AI generated lately. Like the last 6 months has seen an explosion of AI content. And it’s getting REAL irritating. Many of the AI voices grate on my nerves with their monotone monologue and odd verbal punctuation. I know thats not a fault of the AI, but the script writer not knowing more about English punctuation (and another poke in the eye at Modern Education systems). Still, I want to hear PEOPLE, not computers. I’m sure I am not alone in that.

And one other point of writing: I keep my voice, my mis-spellings, my odd punctuations and other ‘tells’ so you know I’m REAL FLESH AND BLOOD, not some silicon chip golem. It would take a long time to get an AI to replicate ME!

Anyhow, its Satyrday, I’m nearly bald compared to what I was when I woke this AM, and I have a half torn down block sitting next to Buffalo under heavy tarp until such time as I can move it into a shed. (Mentally working on making something for the GOAT to be able to lift and haul heavy stuff like that. Something on the back like the three point attachments on a regular tractor.)(yup, anudder project for Dios workshop, The list never ends,,,,). I’ll chatatcha’ll tomorrow after I get done with the domestics. I pinky-swear, no more AI-QM-microtubule driven malarky, m’kay? (the stats tell me y’all hated it.)
