There are days I question my own sanity.
There are days I question the sanity of the entire world.

Watching some of Trump’s recent tweets, I’m seriously questioning his sanity right now.

Iran and Afghanistan are where empires go to die. History has proven it time and again. Persia has persisted for over 5,000 years through countless regime changes—same language, same core culture and history. Few others can say that.

Let me be crystal clear: I am not antisemitic. I am anti-Zionist. And the current government of Israel is explicitly Zionist. Empire-building has been their priority for decades, and any ally’s loyalty to them should always be viewed with skepticism.

Trump would be smart to keep the history of backstabbing front-of-mind when dealing with this group.

Spud sent me this Diary of a CEO episode with economist Steve Keen—you all need to watch it:

Tonight at 8pm Eastern we’ll know if the world tips over the edge. If Trump’s threat (“a civilization ceases to exist”) plays out, the retaliation from Russia, China, and everyone else will be catastrophic.

If he has a moment of clarity, admits he’s been played, and walks the U.S. away… we might get another chance.
But as Keen points out in the podcast, admitting failure is almost impossible for Trump’s personality type.

And if Israel pulls the Samson Option… same apocalyptic result.
We are on a razor’s edge for the next few hours.

Post posting update: There are things that Professor Keen mentions that I DO NOT Agree with. His view on Socialism/communism for one. His take that we haven’t ‘done enough’ about climate change (and long time readers know my stance on THAT mess.)

but his points about the economy and the implications of what this four week (five now?) mess have already done, and the long range applications if it continues,,,Even the short range ones if Trump carrys through,,,

but one thought that keeps coming to mind, and mentioned openly in that video is “the pump and dump scheme” IF, that is what really going on,,, That puts a whole new spin on just where our sitting president truly aligns, and its not a pretty picture. I’ll leave that right there for now. The deadline is still two hours out by my watch, I guess we will see. If you hear about DC going up under a mushroom cloud, I think you will know what direction things went,,,, If we are lucky enough to hold some infratstruture together to get information that is.
