Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Jokes on me

Not QUITE April Fools day,,,

But more the fool me,,, or not, depends on your perspective.

Today, was the beginning of the war on weeds at the homestead.

A full month early this year. We hadn’t seen springs this mild in years, and my yard, heck, the whole daggum place ’round-heres, is taking off, blooming out and goin’ GREEN!!! (not the libtarded version, but its natural state.)

EVERYTHING is waking up. The Dogwood at the end of my driveway is even a week early in blooming out. That tree is usually quite punctual about blooming on Easter Sunday, and yet this year, EARLY,,,,

I have no idea what this portends for the summer. Likely going to be a scorcher and drought. It’s already been quite dry this year. It sometimes hits middle to late February, but didn’t this year. March has seen very minor amounts of precip, to include one heavy snow at the start, but that was about it. (minus the occasional shower or two, scattered about and quite short and very localized)

A few years back, we had one hell of a wet start to July, and then didn’t see drop one for 5 months. That was the year I did run out of water here at the stead. I’m hoping that isn’t the case this year. But, I’m preparing for that eventuality, just in case. Considering putting a few extra 55’s up the hill, possibly even down here at the house and load them up. If need be, I can back feed to the tank up the hill though I prefer using gravity,,, (its that ‘up the hill’ thing. Dry years tend to be heavy tick infestations and I don’t like TICKS,,,, (does anyone?) Theres a bit of wilderness between house and water tank; rabbit haven, and that means TICKS)

FYI, my current tank is a 350 gallon ‘farm hauler’. Its hard plumbed in, so ain’t gonna move, but thats the extent of what I have on reserve. Currrently, its in overflow (usually is) When I see that overflow cease, I start to pray for rain. If I see it stop for a full month, I go into full worry mode. Two months, Scramble mode. I want to avoid scramble mode this year.

See, I DO pay a water bill. Just not in the same currency as most people. It takes work to make and maintain a system to tap into a clean water source. Unfortunately, nature gets a say in things too.

On other fronts,,, its looking like this is going to be another year of ‘limited kayaking’. So much shit going on, and getting time away to play is going to bbe short and sweet when I can get it. Already have a couple of scheduled camp outings, and those will likely be near the extent of my getaways. Not happy about it, more resigned to the situation. Maybe next year after all the dust settles down from this’un.

oh, but the water and wilds CALL,,, they do,,, Caught myself more than once, eyeballing the camp gear and kayak-gear and thinking ‘just load it up ad go for a week, ain’t no one gonna miss ya!’

yah,,, duties and obligations,,,, Like paying bills that don’t wanna go’way, taking care of Da, Needing to work to pay those daggum bills (that I brought on meself,,, yeah,,, Hi Foot, Meet Fast moving chunk of lead! )

grump grumble (pulls out rocks glass and bottle and considers,,,) sigh,,,, not tonight.

very little forward movement this week. At least on the property exchanges side of things. Da is showing improvement as I noted when I watched him at PhysTherapy yesterday even. Moving far better than he was just two weeks ago. Have an ortho appt tomorrow: more than likely they are going to keep him at the PT thing, but he is hoping they suggest going forward with surgery. I didn’t bother to bust his illusion: I’ll let the Doc do that. And I could be wrong,,

ZERO forward movement on Bloo. Thats bothering me a bit and I want to get out there and fix the unfixable. I fired her up yesterday (and she starts SO EASY,,,,) and she was smoking like a professional fog machine in less than a minute. Checked her oil levels and she has used over a quart in the last few weeks and never moved from her spot (I move her around a little to keep the tires and rotors from ‘aging’ in bad ways.) That leak is getting even worse. I do believe that I have a cracked manifold, and I could pull it apart to check, but I am at the point of “Just swap a block” and be done with it. Go through this current block after and see what I can find. It may be worse than what I imagine (usually is when it comes to Teats and Tires.)

As for the Great Wide World,,,, After I saw an email talking about the NasDaq ‘booming’, I decided to turn off ALL the feeds for a couple of days. Certain signs, like marekt movement, tell me how fake and gay this shit really is.

But before I killed the feeds, I caught this,,,,

Now, I have seen a few of JP’s vids, and he can be funny as F!,,, but I was never a subsciber,,,

But this,,, I watched it and ALARM BELLS started going off in my head. About the only time someone drops all protocol and ‘changes’ like that is under SERIOUS intimidations. I wonder what they threatened. His Banking? His Family?, If you havnen’t watched it, do so. Something is WAY off in this’un.

And it could be a propaganda hyped move on his part,,, I won’t say that’s off the table. Seems like, if thats the case, its one hell of a gamble. Or a calculated shift in venue (but why shift venue if the one you had was working, and his was,,,) DUNNO,,,,

I can only say this,,, The alarm bells I was getting only reinforced the thinking I have had of late about our “Greatest Ally, EVAH!”,,,,

Alright, tomorrow is Fools Day,, I have to take a half day off to attend to Da’s needs, and its looking like its gonna be a mad scramble of such. Weather is calling for Rain first thing, and it may be that tomorrow is a full day off (which I wouldn’t mind for the extra time to attend to things, but really need the hours,,,,, Its a catch 22 here,,,,)

More laters,,, Love y’all

REALLY glad to hear ’bout Dad’s improvement – even if it isn’t a lot! A good sign, that.

The Kid’s gotta spa day tomorrow, and I gotta pay the 1st half o’ the month’s bills – this fixed income sheeiitt do suck, it do!

Gotz a new project, I does. Building 2 hat stands fer my 2 Stetsons – 1 an heirloom (with Mercury dimes & Indian Head nickels in the hatband), 1 I bought in 2001. Just ones them urges! Between the dam bills and that, I’ll be busy most o’ the day. Might even keep my azz outta trouble😲

    L’s!

    Y’all take care,

  2. Admittedly, i was wide-eyed when I saw him lift his arm above his head. He had barely been able to move it above elbow level two weeks ago. STOKED!!! He’s been getting out more walking lately, (weather is a HUGE benefit in that regard) and even that is helping more and more. Thats why I think they will prescribe more PT over surgery. I know they were quite hesitant about it with his age, though that was never outright said: just little clues I picked up.
Yuppers,,, stay outta trouble Bro, keep the front feet busy and thats easier. Let ’em idle and hell breaks loose. I know from experiance!!!
