How many times,,,,

Have you ran into issues, frustrated your efforts for a day, and then, come to find out, it was something YOU did to YOU???

Yah,,,,, THAT,,,, Had everything working last night, three false starts on the next podcast episode, decided to ‘call it a night’ and try again this morn,,,

Yeah,,, That happened: NOT! so I spent about an hour, swapping cables around, swapping out microphones, bypassing the interface going straight to usb, nothing, nothing NOTHING!!!!

Help options online are reminscent of Microsofts help function,,, They ain’t! SO I put in a LONG missive into one of the search engines, explaining what I did , what the symptoms are, and BAM! get instant response, ‘Check you security settings’

Sure enough, the DAW was no longer allowed to use the system microphone, whichever microphone the Mac decides is ‘system’. Flip that back on, and now I have to UNDO all the little changes I had made trying to get things working, because I have a serious echo issue and some minor feedback problems now.

AND, I am no longer in the right mindset to be sitting here for hours talking to a microphone,,,, Not right now anyways.

Like I said, I did it to meself. When I pulled up the Security profiles, I recall a pop-up this morning asking if Audacity could use the microphone. My paranoia settings thought it was asking about RIGHT NOW, and I wasn’t recording yet,,, Lighten up Dio, not every program you have is ‘out to get you’ or steal your data,,,,
