Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Wait a dag-darned minute,,,

Seems some of my Fellow Marines have slipped thier cams or something,,,

Former Marine shooter in NC

Former Marine shooter in MIchigan

So much about each left unsaid and so much that could be spun on each.   That the one burned down a church at the same time before being terminated by Local LEOs, says something, but “what” I am not sure.

The other,,, Firing into a crowded bar scene?    Seems dude had some greivances or something, but he didn’t get ventilated and is now sitting in the cooler, awaiting court proceedings and further investigation.

What the Hell BOYS?!?!?!     I mean, yeah, lifes rather shitty, but we were TAUGHT that during Boot, for fucks sake.   There ain’t nothin’ shittier than subjectin’ urself to a DI, with all of his halitosis, screaming down your pipes at 4 am.   The Marines have had and still have THE LONGEST Boot camp of all the services, and some of the toughest criteria for standard service pukes.   Take it to the Seals, Rangers, and Recon to get harder standards.

I know I have an ugly side, one that could wipe out scores of people before I were taken down.   That ugly side is kept very much in check.   We were trained to keep that beast on a leash, with muzzles and shock collars and tasers if need be.    Seems to me that someone(s) decided that the beast needed let free for some reason, but I take great offense that they did so AGAINST OUR OWN PEOPLE.    I ain’t even gonna try to see that other side, that may have been used to “justify” thier actions to themselves.

Maybe they ate the blue crayons.   Or worse,,, the YELLOW ones,,,

>snark off<

Seriously, I have to wonder if the sandbox is going to have anything to do with these boys slipping their cams?    That was a fucked up mess from the word go, and I know a few guys that were pretty normal BEFORE their multiple back to back tours, sometimes to both sandboxes and back.  Now, they are the silent ones, the ones that say little to anyone, even their closest and most trusted wives.   I have seen marriages that were solid before deployment fall to shreds after return, with her saying “he isn’t the same person, not even close.”       This may be an invisible time bomb, waitng to go off in peoples heads,

and maybe that is what happened here.   Maybe???   Since I have ZERO connection to these shooters past the ‘we went to Marine Corps Boot camp’ thing, I don’t want to think to hard about it.

And since I was ‘indoctrinated’ in the late 80’s, I can’t say what changes took place in training after ’89.    I saw some of the guys coming out in 92 that seemed a little ‘soft’, not just in the head, but in body as well: we wrote that off to the mass recruiting that took place leading up to Desert Storm, when the recruiters were basically pulling every string to get more newbs, and then at the Depots, standards were relaxed a touch to get more cannon fodder out to the fleet.   At least thats what we thought then,,,, Did those criteria not ratchet back up later?    (Shush BCE,,, I know you are gonna say ‘every Marine is ‘soft’ in the head,,,’  x-p  )

Maybe its just all the “STRANGENESS” of the last three weeks finally pushing one of those soft-headed types over some threshold,,,,

For the record, the events of the last few weeks have been strange, but NO WHERE NEAR what will make me walk down that hallway and unlock the cage to the beast.   There is a threshold there, but the bullshit of the world hasn’t reached that threshold yet.    Its gonna take a whole lot more than what we have seen to flip my switch.

HT to Mikee for this’un

I pity any place when the leathernecks slip their chains,,,

hard to say what strips the gears… Overload, lack of traction, faulty data in the decision matrix… Could’ve been he thinks he’s getting the big C and wanted to settle some grievances. I know for me personally, I WILL NOT accept medical care from anyone unless I know that their personal beliefs and values mesh with mine. I’ve seen to many instances of the medical industry screwing the pooch for money and power. Fauci? Pfizer? The entire organ transplant system?

maybe he decided that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander as well… Wanted a little payback for the shenanigans of the left wing shooters. Who knows?

I don’t believe that any member of the military is programmed to be biased toward left or right groups. Those prejudices are developed from input received by propaganda that one allows into their own circle. We were trained and swore an oath to all citizens to protect and serve the Constitution. Equally…

Many have forgotten exactly what they swore to.

This CK event has brought that out much that will have repercussions. Until recently, I had believed CK to be an old school LDS out of the past . With the stuff he preached.

I grew up in the Mormon church so know much about what the doctrine used to be. Probably still is behind closed doors. Much the same stuff Charlie believed about women, blacks and rights etc,…I was surprised when reading that he was considering becoming Catholic.

just goes to show that we really don’t know what drives others actions. How very little we know.

    • the only divisiveness I recall being trained in, was for competitiveness between services. “Marines are better than all the others” was the mantra pounded into our heads, and I would say the other services held much the same,,,”Army kicks everybodies ass”, “Navy keeps it tight” etc etc. Never a political leaning, not in BC anyways. The Unit I came ‘home’ to, was quite conservative, but that had nothing to do with the Corps as a whole, which was leaning left at the time (got out under the first Clinton admin, and upper eschelons were all about politics and keeping with the status quo.) Seem to recall the Captain of my unit retired shortly after I left, citing political reasons. That was ‘in fleet’ though, not a training cadre.
