Ch-ch-ch-changes

Not sure how y’all view my site.   It’s different depending on if you are using the WP app, a phone browser (mobile view) or looking on the desktop.  

If you are on desktop, you’ll note there are some visual changes taking place.  

If you are in mobile viewing, it will be the ‘read more of this page’ on posts.

I’m trying to clean house a bit, unclutter the home page, and get a better image of traffic.   Not trying to mess with your heads.  

There is also a battle between meself and HTML ongoing right now.   I know the code, but rusty as hell and so the desktop site might get some oddball script showing instead of the image I am trying for.   and in weird places,,, Apologies as I kick the walls and hammer the joists back into place.

As I was telling Mikee in emails, I’m so used to seeing the backside of this blog, I forget what the frontside looks like.  Behind the scenery, this machine is a clunkyclankyand cantankerous bitch.

and it doesn’t help that about every three months, WP does an update and somethings get ‘rebooted’ back to defaults.   Like the whole logging in to comment thing.   Some of you have no issues, others send me emails saying they can’t comment at all.   I know its frustrating to you, sure is too me as well since that means feedback is sparse and intermittent.   What I did find out on that: if you have cookies disabled in your browser, you are going to have issues commenting.   I don’t expect you to change your cookie settings, just to comment, but AM letting you know, that is likely where the problem is, and there ain’t a danged thing I can do to fix it.  Thats between your browser and the settings you run with, and the host of this domain.  I could disable the security settings, but that could open up a pandoras box of crap I really have no desire to deal with,, spam and phishing comments in particular, but other even more nasty things could climb into my workshop.

so with the changes I made today, and will carry forward (not to the site itself, but to the posts in general) everyone should be able to see that like button and share buttons now.  comments are wide open, so (fingers crossed) no one has to log in anymore, but if thats the case, at least sign your comment, please.    so we know what to call you other than some slur you won’t like (but we may do that anyways depending on what you have to say.)

It’s been one of those days, where I am chasing the ghost issues of a broken ground on an old Chevy,,,   Only this one is all pixels and code,,,  my eyes are complaining, and I burned up my hotspot allotment for the month.   (Da’s and Library time for me if the Mac needs wifi. and she will)(at least until the 10th when my phone month rolls over.)   I at least have the phones unlimited data plan for checking in and posting; old hat these days.
