I have a wee problem with that. Dunno bout most of ya, but the tricks I learned about ‘fucking someone up’, I learned from old Nam vets. (most of ’em anyways, but not all, I picked up a few from Haj and the Cartels too.) I do agree how most of us were ‘off the chain’ latchkey kids,,, Many of us raised seeing our parents only on weekends and in the depths of winter (if we couldn’t see due to weather or other miserable conditions,and stuck indoors,,) Some, like my sis’ and self: single parent who worked his tail off and when we saw him, he was working around the house. Very few memories of my dad ‘letting his hair down’,,,happened, but rare,,,

We don’t believe anything: Not true,,, we just don’t believe anything from GOVERNMENT. (we did learn how to think for ourselves, despite the best efforts of public indoctrination) We have spent the last 35 years (or more) being ‘promised’ all sorts of things, like retirement, and paying into the system, but we ALL know it is something we will never see (and most of us are taking steps accordingly) We didn’t get the benefit of pension plans in corporate settings and insurance has blown all out of proportion to when we were growing up (and many of us have little trust in that institution since 2020 happened) Independent, we were, are and will be, and just leave us the fuck alone and we will be alright: we always have been.

And I think its why some of my Gen get the reputation for being Frivolous. Hell, I AM frivolous and have reasons beyond just my ‘growing up’ (Kuwait kickoff party in the sands of Saud under soot blackened skies, shitting my guts out,,, Welcome to hell,,,,) and yet some of my friends make me look downright uptight in my routines. Many of us live life as if today were the day.

and I don’t think many of us thought we would make it THIS far,,,, I know I sure never thought I would live long enough to see 55. Hell, we were raised under the spectre of Nuclear Holocaust, it was the bread and butter of the Media at the time (until the wall fell,,,) and we were harangued with it even on TV shows. Why not live for the moment when no one knew when,,,,,

But there is one thing I can point to and say was a problem. MTV. Looking back on some of the sections of it, (you can look them up on the nets, play them back and see what I mean.) especially the political reports, I can now see that we were being programmed for the government we now have, and I think that is part of why we ARE NOT doing anything about it. Some little snippet of our minds is saying ‘this is normal’ even though our thinking brain is ready to start stacking bodies, just not sure how and not have it be a suicide run. I could be wrong,,,,

we aren’t off the hook, we are off the chain. we know we are going to be carrying the load all by our lonesomes soon enough, as the boomers go full fledged retirement and the younger generation are figuring it out (and dropping out,,,) . AND, we know something they don’t (or don’t want to admit to) Those retirement checks and welfare checks are going to stop and sometime within thier lifetime. “What can’t go on, WON’T.” That boondoggle of Social security is bankrupt; anyone with the skills to balance a check book can see that. And that its blatantly a SOCIALIST program (even says so right up front),,, Dunno, but that ship sailed back after the first person claimed her first check: it was an obvious Ponzi scheme and yet,, those tend to be the easiest to sell because EVERYONE wants something bigger than what they put in; It’s why gambling can be an addiction,,,

One thing I can say with certainty about my Generation,,,, We had hella musical influences and created some of the BEST MUSIC EVER from that. Dunno what happened to the music industry in the late 90’s but the shit stuff being played on most ‘popular’ stations,,,, Wanna hear good, and NEW stuff? gotta look up the indy bands. Great stuff and you can hear the influences from the 80’s and early 90’s there. In fact, if it has a label behind it, I would say its likely trash, but if its independently produced, it may have merit. And for the love of God, how did a song called W.A.P. (won’t type it out, dammit!) get to number one? the kids?

Who needs reprogrammed? The deplorables, or the kids that are hitting graduation stage or just left it? (considering most of them have a hard time doing stuff I learned in the first four years of schooling,,,, Nuff said I think.)

And I digress,,,,

I’m not ripping on ‘boomers’ or the ‘Greatest Generation’,,, I am saying that we are IT now, and we had better get our dope straight for when this shit collapses. Start at home, get local and start making a difference somewhere. We are going to be the cleanup crew. (do you really want a generation that thought wetasspussy was a great song to lead that cleanup crew? I think NOT!)
