Busy Domestics day,
Out of State cousin in town, family get together kindasorta thing,,, New babby, must show Fam how cute the adorable klingon is,,,, to be fair, she was cute as a button, and all eyes, all the time, soaking in the world around her,,,,
More firewood in the shed too; three ricks worth. White oak, not that pissy smelling red oak.
Was doing to some thinks about yesterday, looking at the maps of this trip and some prior,,, Has a minor goal in mind to help me reach that 100miles/month goal for my 55th year on this planet. I intend to go from one put in to the other and a return. rough calculation is 11 miles. Thats the first goal. Second goal is ‘put in’ at first place, paddle to first boat in campsites, then onward to second set,, thats clear on the other side of the lake: about 15 miles. May make that one an overnite, camp at the site then return the next day. I could fit that in with my ‘winter camping’ routine to, IF, The other campers are willing. they wouldn’t need to take my route, there are others to the sites, the only downside is the sites are technically closed for winter season. Dunno,,, still thinking on this one, but the goal is very doable. I saw that yesterday. Yup, core muscles were achy, but not horribly so, and by the time I get to where I am doing that run, I should be in fine shape to do so.
One lesson from yesterday. Maps can be decieving. When your head is only a couple of feet above water, some ‘land marks’ blur into the horizon and distance can only be assumed with movement: IE, you are moving and watching where the land mark is in relation to the other marks nearby. I didn’t get lost, (how do you really get lost on an enclosed body of water) but I did have a ‘where the hell am I?’ moment. It might have helped had I realized I was making better time than I thought and had already passed one of my waypoints, which was further out of water than I recall from previous, so ‘looked different’. I try to NOT rely on the GPS or satellite images because there may be a day where those are bygones,,, Maps and compass on the otherhand,,,, And I have had one instance of the compass being my best friend in the whole wide world: when I was caught in that downpour so intense, I couldn’t see past the bow of the boat. But I could see that compass well enough to hold a heading,,,,
but thats why I go out and play like this. I would rather learn how to read a map proper in conditions that are ‘safe’ (can’t really get lost) while still being ‘real world’ hands on type stuff. My reconiteering days of yore in Ye’ Ol’ Corps are years ago and unpracticed, but I do recall how to triangulate a position. Good maps help, not the goofy butt maps that the forestry service puts up for weekend boaters. I will be rectifying that situation for the lakes I do frequent.
Only downside to inland lake play,,, No tides. That is gonna get me when/if I ever make it to the oceans.

When they say the silent part outloud. Talking about Killary spilling the beans on ‘reprogramming’ that ‘cult’ of MAGA,,,
yeah, she can talk, she would NEVER be the enforcing side of that equation, only the instigator. You don’t think Hitler ever opened a can of Zyklon B do you? And DiveMedic states what EVERY SWING DICK should be saying.
To the police and others who would be the ones enforcing this: Are you willing to die to take us to the camps? Because I am willing to die to stay out of them, and I will take as many of you with me as I can. I hope to make it as expensive as possible.
EXACTLY THAT. Let the leadershits say what they want, but the guys at the front need to know: there is REAL possiblity they ain’t gonna go home. And we are still fricken armed even if we aren’t stepping off the porch. Some more than others, some WAY more than others.
and not all with stuff that you buy at your local gun shop,,,, Just sayin’ (Flamenwerfer strike a bell, right BCE? LOL)
And there are a LOT of us old Vets out here that still know some tricks to play when trouble comes a knockin. Don’t all have to be gov issued nomenclature to be effective,,,,

I’ve occasionally scared co-workers by telling them they know how to make poison gas.
“No I don’t.”
“Never read the labels on cleaning products?”
“Oh…”

Bleach and Tide do some serious ‘fun’ stuff,,,, Don’t ask how I know,,,, And in the right concentration/ratio, can become hypergolic.
