Yah, needed that!!
Woof, these abs!!! Right near the diaphragm,,, not low or centered, but right up near the ribs towards the wing area. Jumped on B’s Erg here to see if his is having issues (no tougher than mine IMO) and just a minute or so and
Owwiiiieeeeessss!!!!
Damn!!!
Arrived home, shuffled stuff out/off the truck, loaded up my laundry and headed to Da’s to do my stuff and take care of anything he needed,,,
Typical domestics day, doing the stuff I should have been doing all week long, but holding off since I wanted my toys for the weekend. Big reason why I keep procrastinating on Buffalo/engine swap. I know she is going to be down for a few days minimal, and I really don’t like the idea of being Home-locked, (might help if I could tolerate the Neighbor (other than Unk; heck, half the time I am not even sure he is over there,,,)
Good weekend, didn’t really tie one on, even though B and I did a liqour store run. a couple of shots, good stuff, just enough to get the mellow going, and then shooting the breeze till jaws started popping from all the yawning,,,,
achy abs and all,,,
And I busted out my erg tonight and did another 15 on it,,,,
Glutton for punishment, tha’s me!!!
Like I said to B on the water,,, “Mark E did this day after day, for 13 months,,,, and he is 65,,, ” and for a whole lot more distance than we covered yesterday,,,, We were just shy of 8 miles,,, Mark was doing 20-30+ everyday,,,, (granted it took a toll, and you can see it comparing early vids to later vids,,, as well as the mental fatigue that was showing the last 4 or 5 vids, with emotions bubbling to the surface right quick over things that would have been shrugged off, early in the trip.
I may not be in line to repeat Marks endeavors, but I want to be in better shape than I am (round is a shape!)(yah, but not the shape I want,,,) Biggest problem I had yesterday was my wind,,,, As in, I had none,,, good enough for spurts of boost, but no longevity. half mile sprints seemed to be the top,,, and I felt like I was struggling to hold cruise (and there were a couple of times where booth B and I felt like we were paddling in honey,,, lots of input with very little forward motion coming out,,,, Dunno that there were currents, as this is a lake, but it is a tributary we were on, so there may have been some. And at the take out, when B was rolling the Ghost,,, I did feel a temperature drop in the water so there is current flowing around,,, Just not sure how that can be predicted or seen and avoided,,,, (you get tide tables on oceanfronts, and that, plus chart info tells you current information (or what to expect, but only as a prediction, not a fact until you are there,,,, Inland lakes? notsomuch,,,,)
Anywhoooos,,,,,,, Lyssa is back on the raacks, and I re-started the process I interupted later last week. I have the time in the evenings to work her hull over and get that sleek fishy skin built back up. Tye to get her speed back that I know she had, and that I inadvertently screwed up (ain’t broke, don’t fix it, doofus) Lessons learned and new lessons as I ‘figgeritout’,,,
All in all, a good weekend: water therapy with a great friend and brudderbyanuddermudder, time with the Bub, and T and their four-feets,,,, my mind is in a much better place right now,,,
And I am avoiding the webs so as to not fugitup,,,, Going back ot the grindstone tomorrow is bad enough, let me leave the outside world out side for a bit.
More tomorrow
