or “pardon, i didn’t quite catch that,,,”

Can’t tell you how many times over the years since I blew up me ears, that those two (and many more) sayings came from my lips.

Dinner with my friend,,,,, damned nightmare since I didn’t have my hearing aids in, and it was a busy restaurant, and,,,

I didn’t have my hearing aids in because I so rarely use them in my normal day to day (Really LOUD, no need to amplify that shit) I leave them sit. And when I knew that I was going to need them, went to put them in, and

dead batteries,,,, (they charge in their case, but it had died as well,,,grrrr) At least it wasn’t a complete fiasco, she did raise her voice, naturally becaues it was a busy restaurant, and I blocked the blown ear drum that garbles everything anyway,,, (everything sounds like its out of an overdriven Marshal Stack: wild distortion,,,) I was able to catch most of the conversation.

But, it reminded me, the A-social hermit, that maybe, just maybe, I need to keep a better eye on some of my tools, especially if I want to be social,,,

except around excited little kids that squeal,,, Cripes that’s like driving a spike right through your head when wearing hearing aids,,,, Love the littles, but not the squeals,,,

Anywhoos, I am wearing them right now, and feeling just a little freaked out. ALl the sounds I never hear are in my head now, and WHERE THE HELL DID ALL OF THESE TREEFROGS COME FROM????? There’s a damned concert of them outside right now. (I know they are there everynight, I just never notice them normally,,,,) I gotta get used to wearing them,,, May not wear them at work, but I can wear them to and from, and keep that case on the charge between,,,,

gettin’ old sucks,,,, and I can’t complain since my old career is what did me ears in,,,,

Back to the J.O.B. tomorrow,, trippin’ out to Harlan, I thinks, subject to weather and just who DOES show up in the morn,,, Another week in the life of Dio,,, Sometimes it feels so, I dunno,,,,, Routine??? That rubs an old sound guy wrong: waiting for the PA to blow up, or the truck to not make the loading dock, or like one instance, Driver didn’t see that you aren’t allowed on the causeway in Chicago and took the top clean off the trailer, and destroyed half the PA,,,

mehbe routine is good,,, but, it can get boring,,, (Shush Dio,,, Murphy will hear you and pay a visit!!!) Yeah, may be sticking my nose to the grindstone and shutting my mouth (stop typing) is the better choice,,, or at least keep certian thoughts contained, not printed,,, LOL
