Sunday evening music interlude

to the upcoming workweek

I don’t turn on the sound system often, but when I do, the whole hollar gets to listen to my choices,,,,

Play it loud,

REALLY LOUD. There are things going on in that song that don’t come out at room levels,,,, an amazing band, lost in the shuffle of the times,,,,

___________________________________________

managed to get some of my honey-do list fixed today, and that added to said list, since things that were getting put off for ‘reasons’ are now inexcusable to ignore,,, Fixed the lawnmower,,, the war on weeds begins anew. Now,, Just WHO thought making an intake manifold in Bakelite, on a Briggs & Stratton engine, was a good idea, needs to be beaten about the head and shoulders with a dead-kat. That was the entire issue: it broke right at the head, but was clean, and not on an angle so I was able to sand the area clean, used a bunch of bamboo skewers to hold the parts inline and glassed the whole area up. let cure, file off the rough stuff and bolt it back on. Second pull, she fired right up. Ran it for a few minutes to get the heat up and help cure that glass, tomorrow I get fresh fuel and if, IF the weather permits, shave my weeds down to civilized levels. This should make the Da happy, and that helps my attitude as well. I know it will make my bluebirds and flycatcher’s happy; they love it after I mow, and hover over the field, grabbing all the buggies running for fresh cover. The kids may not like the mower, but they appreciate the after effects (like not needing to bound over weeds when running home,,,)

I think the Da was in for a shock when he came up to visit: I have several projects going, all on the porch in varied phases of completion. I swear that man thinks I do nothing but sit up here drinking and jerkin’ off if I am not out kayaking. I have that erg that I posted about yesterday sitting out here, a Greenland paddle that I am whittling out, and Lizzy in the horses with fresh gelcoat waiting for me to fair-out, and there was a lawnmower in pieces with an intake in my lap while I was mixing up resin when he showed up. I bounce from one to the other as dictated by waiting for “paint to dry”

I am rarely idle,,, and when I am idle, my brain is not. and in some cases, neither are my hands: like now, as they dance around a keyboard,,, And it can get krazzee enough, I sometimes have to seriously think about the last time I ate,,, I skip more meals on days like today,,,, totally unintentional. That was one of the things that I most appreciated about my EX,,, She kept me from starving myself to death in the race to ‘Get-r-dun’,,,, and there is ALWAYS someting that needs doin’.

Go back, pull that tune up, TURN IT UP,,, get that rush I get when listening to it. more tomorrow.

“thinks I do nothing but sit up here drinking and jerkin’ off” – you say that like it’s a bad thing!🤪

I know whatcha meant in the previous post about crappy weather – today was great! Sunny as all get out all day, then about 9:00 pm, it started coming down by the bucket – BIG buckets (when I wuz tryin ta watch a Western, of course) !$(&^$. Of course that was AFTER I finished watering the garden around 6:30-7:00 ish. ‘le sigh’. It is what it is – ya learn to not get too worked up about ‘the weather’ – alias fake ‘climate change’ BS – around Cent. Flor-I-da purty dang quick!🙃 Or else ya get cray cray tryin’ ta figure it out. Only fools and/or yankees even try.😁 Fun ta watch ’em, though!

I know my dad was rilly rilly surprised/amazed (depending on what it wuz) quite a few times when he came over, and I wuz bizzy with whatever. Many times it wuz regarding my drag racing. He never could believe that I could build an engine with 12.5 to 1 compression that would turn 7500 rpm without coming apart. Then again, pop wanted me to change his earl and plugs! Always amazed me. Dad could work circles around me at work, but do his own auto stuff – not a chance in hell!

Glad to see ya had an informative day, Bro. It’s good fer the soul – so’s the Bourbon!😁🥂

    Y’all take care,
