Just a touch of disappointment

Not about the holidays,  but that I did not go kayaking for Solstice,,,

And good reasons (excuses) as to why I didn’t.   Ice.

Iced over river, Iced up boat ramp. Ice in breath fog,,,   it got damned cold!!!   -22°F windchills here, dead ZERO air temps in the leesides.

Buffalo was even giving me fits about it.  Friday day, it took several attempts to get her going without overheating.   All the  fun and games shes been having with cooling system issues, the coolant was diluted enough to gel up in the radiator and,,,,(would have been fine in normal KY winters, this’un aint normal)

Sitcheeation to be rectified ASAP,,,  (and me thinks shes trying to tell me she wants a ‘buffalo house ‘ to stay in, she was the pampered pet before falling into my orbit,,,)

Its still cold and Bossman texted yesterday to say ‘stay home, we’ll try for Tuesday,  maybe Wednesday,,,’  

No kayak-y love for Dio this past week,  but its been quite productive for it.   Was able to get more sleep last nigh; either I’m getting the allergens knocked down or was just wore the hell out,,,   likely a little of both,,,, and I think the allergen is that woodash. Stuff gets everywhere when I clean the stove out, and its a bi-weekly event when the weather goes sub-minus-freeze-your-tuckus-off cold. Only a couple, mehbe three more months of this shit. 2 and it will start creeping back into spring/summer. Dio waits: I has options but like all options, there are compromises and while not optimal, will suffice,,,

Up to 30 minutes a night on the ergometer. I fixed the broken cross member: was 2×4 pine, now a hefty peice of chestnut oak, predrilled for the screws and rock solid.    Need more files of music to ‘paddle’ to.   This phone doesn’t like my transfer options and won’t accept BT transfers of certain files: mp3 being just one type.   Sigh,   May just find anotther itunes shuffle and load it up; Last one died a couple years back and I never replaced it.

Life carries forward, a bit slower during hibernation months, but ALWAYS forward.
