Need more work

Got my waves today,,,

And 15-25mph gusting winds blowing right into that little bay I put in at.   Good note, if something where to go wrong, it would very quickly blow me back to shore there.   I know because I fought it trying to hold a position and at one point was moving backwards, FAST. Getting pushed around by the wind, Lizzy will turn to down wind (lee helmed) but I feel she will be neutral when under power. I just haven’t pushed her out in the open enough to know for sure. Yeah, I’m probably being over cautious, and I know it,,,,,

The wobble board IS helping.   Waves were very quickly adjusted to(as in, didnt notice a transition).  But I still need to adapt to Lizzy.  She is LIVELY.   And nowhere near as maneuverable as Blue Jean.  Pivot in place is triple the work.  (unless you put her on hard edge then she spins in place,,, I aint there yet)

I really need a partner.  

Rolling was right out today. That wind? solo? NOPES. Yah, it would have pushed me back in, but without a backup, my confidence wasn’t there. At shore drowned is still drowned.

I spent roughly 2 hours just piddling around the bay, sitting with waves breaking bow, stern (waves? Wasdat? She rides foe/aft waves like a dream) quartering (goosey but fun) and broached (full abeam, a bit more ‘interesting’ but managable.) Where I am shaky is that edging thing: there is zero stability to be found there, and I keep pushing it over as far as I can before the anxiety starts creeping on. I can tell, her ‘edge’ is cockpit lip in water, but I’ve pushed that far and the lack of stability exceeds my form.

For now.

I ain’t giving up, but I most definitely need someone out here to watch me as I play with this stuff.

And I need a good LONG paddle day to ease me into how she handles other than this piddling around a bay thing. And that means another body. Dude from work was supposed to be that, but, trendy peep, short attention span,,,

Am I whining? Ummm, mehbe a little. This solo shit gets real old, real fast, and its obviously something I need to remedy and havent found that solution as yet. But not having the solution doesn’t mean I wont get seat time, just not seat time that adds up to skills: just maintaining a level,,, and thats not all that high to begin with.

Lizzy is a very particular boat and I can tell, unforgiving of hack moves: your game has to be at HER par level,,,
