Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Went to bed early,

And woke to find that SCOTUS didn’t punt, as I thought the might.  Nope! They just stepped aside and let the ball fall.

Gotcha.

What does it mean, ya might ask?

Simply put, there is NOTHING off the table now.  If SCOTUS had dealt with the kerfluffle as is thier duty, or even just punted the ball into the lap of Congress, well, Team Trump would still have to abide by the rules set forth under Article 1 and a myriad of others.

By dropping the ball, SCOTUS has shown that there is no rule of law anymore, only rule of Politics and that means that things are going to get sideways with a quickness.  (And lets admit it: we already knew it. But the State had to show it by actions.  These last few weeks have shown it quite clearly.)

Can Team Trump cross the Rubicon

Yup.  Will they? Your guess is as good as mine.

Can Texas and all the other States listed fly the Bird flag, and establish an new country that “holds these truths as self-evident”.

Yup.  Or Nope. Or mehbe,  time will tell and I think that more is dependent upon words being exchanged between groups behind closed doors far from Iphones, Androids, and Alexa, Siri and other IoT toys.  (You do lock your phone up when you are plotting, right?)

Best advice right now.  Keep your clothes and weapons where you can get em on in a hurry.  And as Heinlein has said: “be prepared to abandon your luggage”

My expectations of where this country are headed do not exist anymore. I’ve said it before “my soul is at peace and cold” and that hit a new level just this fine and dark morning. Its a misty rain falling outside and there is a tang of old leaves in the air. Its a glorious start towards a new nation if such is our path.
