Where I sit right now,,, Getting ready to head to Da’s, laundry for me, hauling him to go look at a new pick’em-up,,, New to him anyways.    I condemned his current ride a few weeks back and he has been looking around, as have I, and I finally found something that sorta fits his bill and is close enough that he is willing to look at it.   I found PLENTY of others, but he truly does not want to drive for more than 20 minutes to look at anything.   That limits things a great deal.      sigh,,,,   Maybe this’un is it.   

don’t like this DST crap,,,,   Clock says going on 7,  body and cats say its 8.   Its been over a month since the shift and yet I am still in the other mode.

No boating this weekend.   Could’ve, didn’t.   Cold as cold could be and I had no motivation to don a drysuit.   Replaced the lines in the ERG and that has been my workout routine this weekend.   Not optimal, but works.     (I had thought to go today, and may yet depending on how this truck-run turns out.  It is supposed to be a bit warmer today.)   I could really use the peace I get when on water, which is what I DON’T get using the erg,,,

59 days and counting.   still lots of bad shit that could fall out between now and then.   Still lots of things that could go wrong even after,  

but thats another story.    We need to wrap this chapter up with a quickness, and preferably without tons of drama and heartache.    Not in our control though, is it?

Been feeling the teacher in me rise to the surface again.   Recent purchase of more educational books in hand.   Don’t know when I’ll get to put them into play, but I have them.   Interesting note; while doing my shopping for those particular books, I ran across some others.

and even more, too many to list them all (and far outside of my budget to buy 😦   ) but those two show that, YES, truth will rise to the surface eventually.   Truth doesn’t need support, it stands alone.  It takes mountains of lies to bury it, and it may take decades to rise above that, but rise it will. 

I recall back in 2007, when I was at an “End the Fed” protest, and the ‘leader’ of our group wanted to have a group picture taken at the foot of a statue of Lincoln.   There was a black women with us, and her reaction to the suggestion knocked me sideways.   She stated “Ain’t no way I want my face in the same frame as that traitor”,,,,     I rallied around her later and started asking ‘WTF?” and boy, did that woman give this Buckra a lessonin’.    Woke me up she did!!!   I think that was when I started really looking at how things work, what the TRUE history of things was, and started to really question the narratives, present and past, and trying to figure out ‘where we went wrong’.  

and not long after that was when I got Royces book “Hologram of Liberty” and the brainium started spewing smoke as the gears were trying to set different gear patterns than they were ‘designed’ for (read that as “programmed for by public school”) 

And my quest for the truth continues on.   Not just in our modern times, but much further back, from the turn of time at the birth of Yeshuah, and even further back to Siddhartha, and even FURTHER back to the times of the Pheonicians/Syrians/Babylonians,

Pretty much anything prior to that is ‘unrecorded’ except in fragments of bone and stone and loads of guesswork and supposition.   As described by a character in this book, there are two types of history; Capitol H History (recorded even if fragmented) and small  history (passed on in spoken word and compressed for memory.)   Big difference between the two as one has legacy, the other forms Myths.   Myths being based partly in snipppets of truth, but elaborated to grab attention (make memorable)  (admit it, much of legacy history is boring as fuck! to the average Joe.)

Admittedly, there is an age factor in the ‘love of history’ in people.    The older we get, the more interested we get because we see the Cause/Coorelation of history and current events.   There are few history teachers (in my experiance) that can make history COOL and EXCITING to capture the attention of the swirling pools of light and energy we call KIDS.   I was lucky enough to have had one (after a bout of the most horrendous version a year prior)   I fell in love with history in the 9th grade and went hells bells with it all through Higher school.  (and had been leaning that way if I really think about it: my reading choices up to that point had mostly been historical fictions.   Might have been that I was also playing mad amounts of D&D (DM mode) and wanted to flesh out my games a bit more; but the interest WAS there.)  

It’s sort of like mystery novels for some.   We keep getting more and more clues as to what was, and the storyline changes; in small ways for the most part, but there are times where the shift is HUGE,,,   I won’t go into my current digs in time, still too raw for even me to get my head arouund yet, and some of the sources are questionable currently,  (and this is much much further back than the War of Northern Aggression.)

I think what I am digging at here in this post,,, Most of what we believe “Just Ain’t so” and most people would reject it out of hand for the simple fact that thier world wouldn’t stand well without the supports of the NARRATIVE.

We are seeing parallels of that with the Election of Trump and his cast of Avengers,,, or at least the predictions of such,,,*    There is an entire section of this country that feels the shifting of the earth beneath their feet and they are SCARED of what the future holds.    They cling desperately to beliefs that ‘just aren’t so’  (communism, socialism, utopian dreams of equity,,,) and have no basis in navigating the new world they are being told of. 

Yup, hangin’ on the end of the rope is how many of them likely feel these days.    Desperate people do desperate things: I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Suicide rate for 2025 is quadruple that of 2024 (which by some accounts is already well above average)

Shitty part of that being, I have no reasoned discourse to follow (no curriculum established) so I meander BIG TIME here in my posts,,,,, Follow along, it makes sense, but don’t even think about jumpin out of line: you’ll get lost in the weeds.  I am totally the pantser when it comes to writing.    (and I have set up a curriculum before and have been able to keep to it, but when it comes to my writing,,, let the words spill, see where the thoughts go: Sometimes, the end of the path is surprising, even to me.   And surprises are learning in action.)

Its a lean month,,, when the wallet gets tight, my vindictive nature hones up to a bright edge.    Feeling VERY vindictive about what the Shaministration has done to this country over the last four years.    IF they weren’t trying to tear it down around our ears, lord only knows what they were trying to do.    (and sadly, they aren’t out the door YET,,,, 61 more days,,,)(and I hope those that fail to eject the system get caught in the nets).

The sad thing being,,,   with the holidays (one literally around the corner,,,) on us, that work thing is going to remain lean,,, I know it, and I am trying my damndest to keep a couple of the others at the J.O.B. aware that they need to be frugal as fuck!!!     It’s hard enough when you operate at the edge, its harder when the edge starts to crumble beneath your feet. (not talking me,,, my damage was self inflicted, and I have been doing this enough years, not the first time down this road,,,,)   What I can’t understand,,,,, sorry, no, I DO understand it.    These guys ALL get some subsidy from Uncle Sugar,,, even if its just Foodstamps (EBT as they call it now) and/or Medicaid,,,    I Do Not.    Everything is out of pocket for me, and yet, they can’t make a dollar stretch a week.   I DO GET IT,,, Free money encourages childish behaviour.   Cut the shit off (and I hope there is a serious re-configuring in the future.   SSI earned through the years, not to be touched: but those on the dole that are capable, young, just dumb,,,,)

VERY short day at the J.O.B.,,,,   It’s that time of year, and with the past Selection cycle behind us, many people were holding their cards close the chest, and due to that, we are short on work status,,,   As in, not enough to spread 8 guys around and get full days.   More like, there is a HIGH PROBABILITY I won’t be getting any time in tomorrow, and here it is two days into my work week and I am already down seven and half hours,,,,  

Is what it is,,, tighten the belt and keep putting feet forward…

(and it never fails, I get squirelly with the money, the hours drop like stones.    I’ll get through, I always do. Sigh,,,,,)

Now for the easily amused thing.    I like real cream for my coffee,,, I buy the heavy whipping cream (unsweetened) for that purpose.   Well, the other night, for some unknown reason to me, my feed on the Utoobies, had a guy making, of all things BUTTER,,,  Using the cream (duH!) and a pinch of salt.    Now me being me, curious as any one of my kittehs, and likely just as curious as all three rolled into one; I decided ‘gots the time bein’ off work,,, play!’

Didn’t make much, just a half coffee mug of cream and sea salt.    Didn’t have a hand blender small enough for the container so improvised with a bamboo stick and some plastic card stock mounted in a power drill.  (yeah, totally a ‘Home Improvement’ scene,,,, LOL)

blend blend blend blend,,,, starting to look like whipped cream,,, Keep it up,,,,

blend blend blend blend,,, and suddenly there is a chunk of butter swirling around in the ‘juice’ that is actually buttermilk, blend a little more to get the rest of the butter fat out of the milk, then strain (had a coffee filter for this,,, worked, not optimal.,)   Ouila!!!  BUTTER,,,    Elbee LOVED the butter milk (I tasted it, but never have been a fan of buttermilk straight: as an ingredient in biscuits and flapjacks, yup,,, straight,  blech!, just not my thing.)   

Then the real test,,, Fry a couple of eggs for a true taste test,,,,  

DAMN GINA!    Thats some REAL butter,,,

I don’t buy large quantities of butter unless I am cooking a large batch of stuff (like upcoming holidays).  I usually just use olive oil or coconut oil for cooking, but I do love my butter tastes (and not that psuedo buttery flavored crap they call margarine or ‘can’t believe its not butter’ somthin’or’nudder,,,,)

Well, now, Since I am gonna buy the cream anyway, if I desire something buttered, I can make some on demand.   I have a good idea how much of the cream will make how much of the butter, and that means zero waste in the future.

Now if shit falls apart, gonna need a milch cow,,, or a nanny goat,, Similar item with different taste, but still nummers.

Yah, I’m easily amused,,,,     and easily pleased by simple things.

My last post got my brainium running in circles.   And a post of Fakebuk from a friend (that I agree with usually, but this instance, NOPE)  had me shaking my head.

DISCIPLINE, a shadow term for Corporal punishment with other meanings as well. In this instance, I am using the corporal punishment meaning.

We stopped disciplining school children.

Look at what the young’ns are doing these days.   Just look at the childish tantrums being thrown (and they record them for fucks sake!) over a losing political charade.  These are ‘fully grown adults’, holding down jobs (maybe) driving cars (they like filming their tantrums in their cars)

But they are NOT Adults.

IT wasn’t all that long ago, we still had physical punishment in schools.    Simple things like Swats, where you got your ass  paddled for being a screw-up.

‘But Dio, WE are a civilized society!!!  We don’t need that sort of altercation to correct bad behaviour!”

BULLSHIT!!!    The real world doesn’t work like that, never has, never will.     IF  you were to try and live outside of a society, violence is the NORM.    IF you don’t abide by the rules, you are going to DIE.   Don’t mess with Mama-bear, and NEVER get between her and her cubs, sort of rules.

WE incarcerate our Criminals. and that has become the agreed upon ‘practice’, but look at return to jail rates.   Recidivism is practically expected these days.   In Schools, they used to do detentions or expel offenders, (and this may still be the case in some places) but the physical punishments are now VERBOTEN.

and the result is, IMO, quite expected.   NO DISCIPLINE, Toddlers throwing tantrums, no respect of any sort to others.   me me me me me me,,,,

I’m not talkiing abuse here, though there are instances where an outsider might interpret things as such (that incorigible kid that just won’t quit for example)   But like the wilds, if ‘justice’ isn’t swift and exact, the lesson won’t be learned.  More “spare the rod, spoil the child” proverbs,,,

I like Heinleins example of teaching the puppy ( in Startship Troopers)   If you don’t catch the puppy making the mess and correct him immediately, he won’t learn.  If you randomly beat on the dog for no reason, or lock him up for long periods of time (and you can’t explain why to a dog,,,), eventually that dog is going to turn and bite.

Look at our inner cities,,,

Look at the cry-babies videoing their tantrums.

Look at the products of Modern Education, showing up as freshmen in college and can’t read and comprehend  basic instructions.

We have children that can type 150wpm, but can’t scribble out their names with a pencil.   (and I don’t even want to go into the verbiage and punctuation chaos they use.)

And to point this out as unacceptable is becoming criminal,,,   Thats how society fails,,, when the standards of it are no longer ENFORCED (corporal punishment is enforcement) the standards will fall to the losest accepted level, and when that level is not set in stone,,,,

Areas where I see “misinterpretation”: Bullying, now applies to ‘shaming’ as well as the narcisistic bully of old.  You can’t are not permitted to use shaming to correct bad behaviour.   Simple but effective corporal punishments; Rulers across the backs of hands, Swats across the backside, etc, are not permitted any longer.   The sudden and yes, PAINFUL, but not phyisically damaging correction focuses the recipient on ‘I don’t want that to happen again’ and steers them to making sure they don’t ‘mess up’.    We are hardwired to avoid pain, and if we aren’t using that ‘tool’ to teach (at least in some small way) we are doing our students, our prodigee, OUR FUTURE SOCIETY MEMBERS, a serious disservice, and ultimately, ourselves as well.   

Lord knows, I wouldn’t want some of these ‘children’ being my Nurse or Physician when I am old and decrepit and need assitance.

Maybe I am that old soul, trapped in a younger body in a time where things aren’t the same.   BUT, I see how things were, how they could be, and I don’t see them improving without great pain before we witness a correction.   These children are going to be a burden on society and they are raising children even worse (if you want to call it raising them.)   We will see a Feral Generation that has no concept of right or wrong, if things keep going.   I often joke that Gen-X are the feral ones, and in some ways, we were, but we figured out that ‘right and wrong’ thing and did pretty good with it.   IMO, Where things shifted were in the public schools and a misinterpretation of “cruel and unusual punishment”     Maybe there should be a certain amount of cruelty built into the system,,,,,

To those that want to argue this, remember one thing ” LIFE AIN’T FAIR” and anyone telling you otherwise is trying to sell you something or take something away from you.   REAL LIFE is a Mutha and will beat you senseless if you get out of line.   And we do the kids and ourselves a disservice if we teach them otherwise.  AND, this is a broadbrush post,,,, I know there are people of the same age as those children, who aren’t totally screwed up brainwashed leftoid communists.    The ones we are exposed to are the outliers: also known as “useful idiots”.
