Not bad today, but the rain that is coming down feels like it was snow 1000′ feet up: cold icewater falling from the sky.   Temps won’t drop low enough for snow to form at this altitude until late tonight, but the clouds are slated to roll out before then (and why the temps will drop so low, no atmo blanket to keep the heats in.)

My ‘juice’ came in today.   For the record, yeah, you can ‘ingest’ it: get that syringe as far back as you can, nearly down your throat and blast away.  Still gonna get some taste of it, but not gagging levels.  Probably not the best way to get it in the system, but I don’t trust me with needles and my own flesh.   I can do subcutaneous injections on the kats and they don’t mind (or seemingly so), but my skin,,,

I’m a wuss.  LOL

That should be a soothing thought to my fam and  friends: I won’t ever do drugs that require me to poke holes in meself,,,,   but most of those close to me know I don’t abide recreational drug usage (other than the occasional left handed cig type, I can’t see how that is much different than my taking a finger or two of Scotch or Bourbon afterwork.)

For those out there that may be getting hit with this bug, here is what HAS worked for me so far, that is ALL OTC stuff.   Not including what I rcvd today as that is ‘unknown’ at this point.

First off, the drips: saline washes.   I’m using A&H Simply Saline nasal mist.  Blow some up the schnoz, repeat on other side, then BLOW THAT HONKER,,,   what comes out will ASTOUND you.   The extra strength version I am using is a higher concentration of salt and helps dry things out.   AND this bug or the infection that it induced, does NOT like that salt water.   The bloody mucus that I was getting is much reduced now.

as for the crud in the lungs,,, Mucinex 1200 ER tabs.  one every 12 hours.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER,,, toss in some electrolytes every other or two cups to keep your system in balance.  You are going to be hacking up gobs of gunk and that takes water out of you; need to replace that

as for the pains of infections,,, my usual acetaminophen/aspirine/caffiene OTC pain meds.  Excedrin is the brand name but there are reasonable generics as well.  (250/250/50mg respectively.)  A pair of those and the ache receeds, sometimes goes away completely, for awhile.  (bump up the caffiene with a shot of coffee, bam! pain gone!)

Hope that helps someone.   Things are definitely improving since I started using the saline washes; drainage is down enough that I stopped using the benedryl (which I hate using anyways,,,)   Still, keepin on eye on the weather and watching how my body reacts when it gets warm out again.   Still thinking this was a minor bug topped with alergic reactions to pollen from overzealous trees thinking spring had sprung.

One thing about me is my book collection. I’ve dragged the one I currently have, around the country when I was doing the RV living thing. I’ve added to it since settling down but I don’t get rid of ‘Friends’: and my books are the bestest of Friends.
I rarely lend books, for many reasons. Usually due to lack of trust that they will be returned: see above, you take one of my books, you have kidnapped a very dear friend of mine. I take that shit kinda personally,,,,
BUT, If I do lend you books, 1) I trust you to respect my friends whom have no self defenses of their own. and 2) I am opening a window into ME!!!! The books I keep close have had some impact on my life, spirit, thinking, outlook, what have you, and when I am sharing that, I am sharing a part of me with you. That sort of thing is very intimate to an introvert, usually jealously guarded and kept behind 10000′ foot walls. One book in particular comes to mind right now: Illusions: the tale of a reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach. I have had a few copies of it over time, and its getting harder to find used copies of it, and ALWAYS because someone ‘fell in love’ with my friend and failed to return it home.
I’m writing this now because I went to the shelf for THAT book and realized, its out on loan currently. I’m pretty confident I know where, and if thats the case, no worries, but I wonder,,, Has the borrower read the book? what did they think about it? etc etc,,,, Those questions mean something to me since that book had a lot to do with HOW I think about the world around me. It started my thinking about the quantum world and how we are all tied together in some way, even down to our thinking and how identical ideas seemingly pop up on opposite sides of the planet at the same time.
Hell, I admit it, I want to discuss the damned book with whomever borrowed it. Partly because I want others opinions and perspectives, and also because I don’t want to live in an echo chamber,,,, I feed my mind daily, and yet there are so few I can discuss things with and I end up edging to that black-pill stage.
And a lot of reasons why I need to just set the phone on charge and walk away for a day or two.

That time of year,,,  Seasonal J.O.B. and a crumbling economy means people are playing cards close to the chest, and that means Ol’ Dio has Freedaze again, for a spell anywhoos,,, Will see how long.

Not that I am happy about it right now, could use the FRN’s but later, when the weather gets warmer, I do enjoy the extra long weekend.

Da’s on his ‘sell and move’ kick again.  I have no idea what all he has on his mind, though I do understand his POV of reduction of liabilities in his end days.   He found out what inheritance tax rates were and is trying to find someway of beating the taxman for us kids.

Totally understand that, but it tosses a big box of loose parts into the machine I am operating currently.   I have been considering what my options are if he does sell and move (and obviously, I have a serious lack of info to work with: as in WHEN, WHERE, etc)  AND, I decided to pull Sis into the fray for an alternate perspective, and as catalyst in talking to Da about things.   Way too early for anything concrete and may blow over as Da changes his mind almost as fast as I do,,, BUT, just like me, once he commits, its as good as done.  (I wonder where I get that? hmmm?   )

And of course, I am jonesing for a kayaky fix,,,,

As for getting my kayaky fix,,, Dunno,,, still not right in the respritory areas: BETTER, but still not 100%,,, Still have the drainage thing goin’ on and that leads to coughing bouts that bring me to my knees at times.   Probably not a good idea to have one of those pop up when I am surrounded by deep (and VERY COLD) water,,,,  the Ivermectin I ordered is scheduled to arrive monday, and in the meantime, I am doing saline rinses of the upper schnoz, benedryl in the AM to keep the drainage to low levels, and guaifenesin(mucinex) 1200mg every twelve to help keep the shit loose so I can hack it OUT,,,.   Seems to be helping, and the aches from sinus infections is abating as well.   I can tell the areas that are infected quite well when I do that rinse thing.  BURNS! OMG! but thats a good thing as it means that things are getting cleaned up.

Wellssssss,,,,,   I did, or, more like, I went, but they no longer take my CareCredit card, and I didn’t have the room in other areas to pay.   Nearest place that does take that card (people doctor, my vet still takes it for Grizzy) is over 100 miles away in Jacksboro TN.  I can struggle through for a time, and I do have options as I already addressed above, and, while yes, it would be nice to have some wide-sprectrum antibiotic that kicks in fast, maybe what my body needs is a chance to work this out without that help,,,

Like any system, it needs used to keep it in shape.   (ever notice that the kids that play in the dirt all the time are those least likely to catch ALL the bugs?   Think there is a correlation there?)

It is February,,, and the weather may not seem like it (and may not hold much longer either) but there are more chances to get my fix in the future,,, just be patient is the rule,,,

Got home from the J.O.B. after deposting my whole one day of seven hours paycheck,,, and Da was telling me things he has been seeing and thinking.  ONE,,, His internet service is getting hacked.   He’ll be watching one of the alternative channels and about the time things are ‘getting juicy’ suddenly there is a close up of some Chinese chick crocheting gee-gaws,,,,, that will last for a few minutes then it reverts back to ‘scheduled programming’ but always Communist News Network or similar,,,,

He told me this has been going on for months,  

And today there were network outages on several national communications networks.

Fightin’ with buggies this week.   Problem, seemed like the whole thing was reciprocating on itself.   First head cold, then to chest, back ot head cold, wash rinse repeat.

That made ZERO damned sense to me.  I have never heard of a bug that was that fast evolving, so much so that it could outpace the immune system.

Still not certain, but I think I figured what the problem has been.   Early pseudo-spring and some of the trees are in full pollen mode right now, and my allergies have been kicking it.   Dad pointed out to me that the Maples and Sycamores are confused about the season,,,   It explains why the ‘headcold’ kept coming back by mid-afternoons,,,,,   I told’ya: I can be dense,,,,

So, today, I took two benedryl (sp) as soon as I felt the eyes start to itch/water and went on about my business.    I don’t like taking those,,, I found out awhile back that they can really mess with me: Restless leg syndrome, anxiety attacks, etc.   SO, Keep it to barest levels and still be effective.   WELL UNDER THAT 300mg/day level,,, like UNDER 100 prefered.    

So far, so good.  

Still have to fight the sinus infection I picked up, and that keeps feeding the bronchial thing, but the lungs are clear!!!  So long as I can keep the sinuses from making like firehoses, I think I have a chance for success.  

Hope to have this thing completely kicked soon.    Need some water therapy ASAP,,,,  The blackpill keeps tempting me,,,,
