I mean 4 watt flicker bulbs,,,, All day, one other emp, and he actually has a brain, uses it, and learns quick. And without the added baggage of 'a body', we were able to get shit done, fix an issue (live electric near one section of fence) and while NOT done, hanging gates and getting … Continue reading OH, sweet blessed relief from Idi,,,,

that lucidity thing

July 18, 2023 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

Thats where my problem has been. Dunno whats getting into Kat, but Grizz has been waking me up UBRUPTLY the last two weeks, and I feel like rest has been lacking; like my brain is scattered across several hundred miles of countryside and what I have on hand resembles scrambled eggs. The mornings where he … Continue reading that lucidity thing

When times look most bleak

July 15, 2023July 15, 2023 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

I can't say that I have been feeling all that bleak about the future of late, not great, but not bleak either. I know we are in for a world of shit: governments can't run up debts as high are ours has and NOT have a collapse of some sort. Collapses always injure maim and … Continue reading When times look most bleak

Escape the asylum day

Early, calm(ish) and VERY few fast movers Those are the cliffs from a previous post where I took a picture from 1/4 mile away. Getting much more confident in crossings, even with gusting winds (waves were all fetch-type, and predictable, not the chaos of fastmovers) Dunno miles or speed, GPS was actung wonky and swears … Continue reading Escape the asylum day

Strainium in the brainium

July 12, 2023July 12, 2023 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

There are days,,,, where I feel the peeps I work with are robbing me blind of my intelligence,,, Like an IQ vampire or something. No need to detail things,,, I only need say, I don't work with the best and brightest where I work. Occasional 15 watters, but the usual is 2 watts on flicker … Continue reading Strainium in the brainium

Mama-kat has been doing the nesting thing: finding hidey holes, making nests, such as if she were preggers and ready to drop kits,,, She ain't.  She hasn't been in three years when she breach birthed Monkey kat, the smallish runt that I had to coax into life after the birth.  That one tore Mamakat up … Continue reading A little illumination in my krazee world

WINGS OF CHANGE

What happens when a wounded veteran, a computer genius, and a handful of fiercely independent misfits decide that the best way to change the world is to stop waiting for someone else to do it?

G has spent years flying from a wheelchair, learning to make the sky obey him even when his body won’t. T is a computer wizard with a mysterious past, an enormous extended family, and a talent for turning impossible ideas into working machines.

Together, they build things that shouldn’t exist.

Aircraft that push the limits of what remote flight can do. Technology born in garages and workshops instead of corporate boardrooms. And a community of people who have decided that family isn’t necessarily something you’re born into.

But building extraordinary machines attracts attention.

Soon G, T, and their growing family find themselves caught between government agencies, competing agendas, and people who would very much like to know exactly what they’re capable of. What began as tinkering and experimentation is becoming something far more consequential.

Because when you build something powerful enough to change the rules, eventually somebody comes looking for the keys.

A beginner’s guide to going off grid. how to evaluate if you even want to make the attempt. written by the curmudgeonly author of this blog and his dog
