She states (and I don’t disagree!) that ” a government that is no longer fulfilling its Constitutionally dirived powers, powers that are spelled out in clear wording: then that Government is no longer valid and all of its mandates and laws are null and void” (paraphrased from memory, but the gist is accurate enough)
First thought: If the Fed Gov is null and void as she states, (and I agree) than we have ZERO OBLIGATION TO PERFORM TO THIER DECREES. Stop paying Federal taxes NOW,,, Everyone that agrees this Shaministration is off the rails, then stop paying Fed taxes,,, pull the plug,,,, Get with HR and tell them that you want to change your W2 to “exempt” and list the reason on the W2 as such above. Keep paying the state taxes but kill the Federal level bullshit. If you are in a state that has no State Tax (good on you) do the same. IF you feel the need to ‘cover your ass’ set up an escrow account with your bank and self deduct the amount into it with stipulation when the FedGov starts following the Constitution of the United States as it is written, than you will release the funds.
But that is only one step. One that needs to be far spread and wide reaching to be effective.
I don’t see that happening, AND, you do so at your own risk. IF you are it in your company, there is risk of visits by the Rectum Stuffers,,, Make sure you have your papers in order (just as if we were in a full on Socialist Republic of Years gone by,,, Because, technically, WE ARE!)
Thought Two: and this one is quite personal to me. IF, and its a big if right now, This powder keg blows, and those 25 States aligned with Texas currently follow them off the Reservation and make a new Country,,,, where do I stand? Let me spell it out a little further. I live in KY: KY is NOT one of those states and we have a very Blue Guv at the helm. IF those states do seccede, I am ‘behind enemy lines’ so to speak. Granted, its only a 20 mile run to the border from here, but when times get crazy (they aren’t? coulda fooled me) 20 miles may as well be 1000.
And I ain’t exactly Steve McQueen,,, ROFL.
Oh, and if you think I am not on some lists,,,,, I’ve been quite vocal about the current schlepp in office in Frankfort, as well as TurtleBOY McDouche of Federal office (in)famy. If the round ups of ‘subversives’ starts, I am can gar-an-damn-tee you, I am on the first set of lists. (and NO, I have no plans of going, let along going quietly,,, and I definitely WILL send an honorgaurd ahead of me,,,)
and that leads me to another question. WOULD, assuming such case listed were to happen, would I be better off serving the ‘right side’ from behind the lines? War fronts are NEVER as concrete as the lines drawn on maps. there is always a ‘grey area’ where you have sabatouers, resistance, etal that operate independently in opposition to the occupiers.
I dunno,,, thinking right now, not making any plans of any sort, but sorting out options. And right now, thats the best course to follow because this mess could go any which way but loose, and there is no finite timeline for it to ‘change track’.

Ok,,, First off WEAPONS. Any weapon, as defined by common-folk, is merely a TOOL in my book. I have covered this before,,, I AM THE WEAPON,,, The tools of death and mayhem are the extension of my WEAPON that I use to fulfill my mission of “SHUT ‘EM DOWN”. I just saw over at Irish’s place that Hom0Depot has a sale on “Braveheart Sword”s. Now, I personally wouldn’t spend $5 on a stainless steel factory line stamped out mass produced peice of cutlery like that. One good swipe at a person with a kevlar helmet and the thing becomes a stainless steel strap around their head, anchoring you to that person where they can pull you in closer and slip a shiv into your spleen.(honestly, if you want to run with edged weapons as a backup, a good quality machete from a reliable maker is cheaper and more effective, and has an ‘oh shit!’ factor built in.) No,,, I’d rather hold that E-tool I kept from the Marines if I had nothing else. It may be cumbersome, but by GOD, its still effective (and you do sharpen your E-tool, right? I do,,, Makes it easier to cut roots for one, and makes it really wicked in its other aspects.)

I just picked this up for my camping gear supplies, and let me tell you, MUCH IMPRESSED. This thing is very much the Tomahawk of yore,,, Yeah, it has that saw blade that stores in the handle, but the head on this thing is wicked mean when NOT in saw mode.
if ya have to use it as that tool, the recipient is gonna KNOW they were hit,,,

As for home defense,,, in comments over there at Irishs’, one person mentions a lady that found the drawer to her pistol stuck and used a Katana to subdue and hold the perp until Police arrived. THIS is an example of “YOU ARE THE WEAPON” IMO,,, Whatever is at hand, WITH INTENT is usually all you need. NOTE: WITH INTENT!!!! That does NOT mean ‘intent to harm’,,, get it?
Maybe I should expand on that for the slower crowd: WITH INTENT means “I‘m gonna kill your ass so dead, your great grandchildren will fear my genetic code!!!” INTENT. Comms. even if what you can get is a set of family radios at wallyworld, and spread them out among like minded folk in your AO, than you are one step forward to a network that can’t be shut-down easily. If you are counting on your Fon/internet,,,
As resilient as the nets are, they are NOT in your control,,, One drunken fool can take out a substation and knock out net access to a couple of counties of people. We found that out recently. (why I had shitty comms a week or so ago) Netz go down, local economies shut down (if they are not person to person on a cash exchange)
Get some comms that work when everything else goes dark. battery powered and get lots of extra of those too. Even if one of your ‘friends’ is that handicapped can’t get out of the house old lady up the street, She can at least send word that ‘theres a strange vehicle headed your way,,,,’ 5 minutes before you can see it. That is the sort of comms I’m talking about. Like we used to have when the Fon’s were bolted to the walls and people still interacted with neighbors,,,, (yup, dating myself and my childhood in the 70’s/80’s)

Satyrday in the park

Its warm(ish) this weekend, at least in relation to the last two weekends in Anarctica,,, WET, rilly wet like. Local river is what we call ‘washed out’ though still in her banks. any disturbance of rock formation is dead flat right now. That also means that all the dead tree fall, is shifting around or breaking loose and those cause boating hazards. Won’t be on that ol’gal,,,,
Seriously thinking “vakay wknd” is in order; do some wet boating on the lake, get some miles in and work out the kinks in the shoulders and lower back. Tone up these flaccid muscles: winter always gets a little slower, but this one has been worse between weather and Buffalo issues.
Just chceked on the Drysuit status,,, loaded onto plane last night and is one way to Los Angeles (should have arrived by now if thier numbers are accurate,,, Just not keyed into system yet,,) and so’ssssss I should have my Drysuit by the end of this coming week. JUST IN TIME for that return of Antarctic conditions, and perfect conditions to test it and my ideas of whats goes on UNDER it. And if you think I won’t,,,

(S)election Cycle 2024: the great CON. I am not paying attention to the debates or primaries so much as I am paying attention to DNC and DOJ antics,,, Something is going on, and its not just ‘the fix is in the bag’ sorta stuff. There may be a last minute change of faces on one side. There may be last minute changes to election law, same as we saw in 2020, There may be lawfare removing any and all choices from certain States rolls (you can’t vote for that one,,,,) which should SCREAM at the residents of that state that there is no longer any ‘democracy’, but absolutely a Totaltarian Regime. (democracy=peoples choice,,, right? Not that its a good thing either, but,,,,,)
I started this year (shit, only 27 days into it,,,) refusing to do any prognositcation and this is why,,,, 27 days in and there have been things that have already railroaded others forecasts: Texas making a stand for one,,,, Half the states standing behind them (of which red KY with its Bluer than Blue Guv ain’t one of them. 😦 ,)(I would say though, that KY does stand with TX, but the gov of KY is the keepin’ it off that list.)

Another day gone by
Word out on whuzgoin’ on with BCE and FAM so go give ’em some love, let ’em know your thinkin’bout ’em.
Found my issues on Buffalo, not as bad as I suspected and totally on me for being ignorant of that particular ‘upgrade’ that GM did on those axles. Currently back on line with a bandaid, will pull things apart and do full repair this weekend. Yup, gotta pull the axle again, but at least the new bearing and seal are NOT the problem (sorta are sorta aren’t)
For some dagblamed reason, they made the bearing/race/seal as a single press in unit for this model. Pricey as witch too. $45/ea,,, And whutIdihdn know was that there is a ‘sealer’ that is supposed to go on them when you press them in. Like thread locker, to hold them in place. (why I had to use the torch and other tools of destruction to pull the old burned up races out.)
The whole unit was shifting around and lettting the goo out around itself. Seals and bearing are still good, just need hammered back home and sealed up proper-like. And Right Now, for the band-aid till I can fix it, I cleaned up the area with acetone, slapped some grey goo RTV on the joint and wrapped that point in Gaffer’s tape (yeah, I still have some rolls of that stuff) to keep it from slopping around for the next couple days. Buffalo has a lame paw wrapped up, until The Surgeon can get in there and fix it proper,,,, Hate doing shit twice, but thats what happens when you don’t fully investigate the unknown, no? On me, full admission, now I pay that price.
RTFM, (if they give you one) or dig it out of the netz if they don’t. Didn’t, and it shows,,,,could’ve been much worse,,, only leaked while she was sittin’; just made a damned mess of her stalls in the process.
On to the other stuff,,,, I’m of two minds about this (s)election cycle. Looks like a good showing is being made by Trumped,,, Not that I think there is an actual chance in hell he’ll make it anything, (lots of reasons behind that) and the attitude from the Shaministration is ‘its in the bag’,

I swear there are days where all I wanna do is load up the best boat I have, all my gear it will carry, and find the nearest river with the least amount of Locks and Dams between here and the Gulf and just

Saner head prevails though: so here I am still at home, boats are still in the same locations they have been in, and camp gear still resides in its storage place.
It might have something to do with a leak I spotted while at work. Saw some dark colored fluid floating in the melt off near my rear DS tire,,,, Gear oil. Look up under Buff and sure’nuff,,, that damned axle seal is leaking. Brand new, only 2 weeks and now, leaking. Dunno why, and haven’t dug into it yet, but thats coming fast. Not leaking so much that I am concerned about failure, but those can come on fast too. I am watching it like a hawk right now. Diff level was down, but not as much as I expected,,, AND it may have been amplified by the fact that the diff was ‘leaning’ to that side by where and what I was parked on (pile of snow under the passenger wheel )
Never get a break though,,,, I know I lubed the axle before I slid it home through that seal, but there may have been a burr somewhere I didn’t catch that could have ripped it. Dunno,,, not looking forward to tear down to find out, and the only consolation I get, is that I can see that particular seal without having to pull everything apart (just the wheel and brake parts)
and that has thrown me off for the evening,,,,
So apologies for not coming forth with a krazee article as I teased this morning. It does exist, is not finished, and I am working on it, but my heart just isn’t into it right now and I don’t wanna get jaded with it.
More tomorrow, maybe even my getting up in the wee hours and finishing what I started and posting it.
