    It’s been awhile since thinking about where I was on the millennium change day.

    Had just completed after two years restoring a thirty foot sailboat, and was on its maiden voyage. We were anchored in the dynamite hole at the south rim of Lake Ockechobie. Waiting for the world to go crazy. Fully prepared to come what may? Nothing burgers…so carried on south to the shark river south in the Everglades and spent the rest of the winter before heading on to the Bahamas. Went to every backwoods island that did not resemble Key west and Margaritavil !

    after nine months of wondering, we sailed back to the USA to refit and prepare for the next year. If only we had known ?….this was zero year 2000. We sailed back out to the islands in the spring of 01. Not ,knowing just how much things would change that coming fall?…

      it was definitely a ‘parallel universe’ moment, wasn’t it? Nothing has been even remotely the same since, and the accelerator is welded to the firewall.
