sillly song,,, add to it if you want
O-scopes and vacuum gauges,
noid lights and Mulitmeters
Fuel pressure and Compression gauges
these are just a few of my favorite things,,,,,
It was one of those nights as the depths of memory started scrolling through my shop days, when I had a rolling cart that was for the day to day (which is purt much in one box of BLoo right now) and the large box with all the Diag stuff like noid lights, and a collection of connectors that I could tap into without disturbing the circuits I was ‘eyeballing’ with my o-scope. I’m from the time where I had a bumper sticker: “If it works, Its a Fluke!” (silly advertisement of brand, but I loved that sticker.)
Lot of stuff lost in time forever,,, it would take years to re-accumulate that stuff, and some of it has probably been relegated to the dustbins by new tech,,
but maybe not,,,
I gotta get to the J.O.B. here, so can’t talk long,,, Remote location today,,,
More laters.

Glad you’ve not lost yer sense o’ humor! **Gotz** to keep that goin’ fer sure!!
Likely some of it has, indeed, hit the dustbin. Like Fred & you – I like simple. #1 – a vacuum gauge! It, like several old school tools, resides in my shop where my ’69 Camaro lives. As far as balancin’ a carb(s) – you dam betcha that’s the best! I still use that on a semi regular basis.
Start talkin’ carbs, and mosta the time, I get blank stares – much less talkin’ about a multi carb setup. Gotz a bad fuel pump on the ‘Maro – Grandson said he’d change it fer me. Next was ‘Can ya show me how to do it’? LOL. Shure I can.
Schooled him on the car-bo-nator, too. Nuttin to it, sez I. Also, guess I need to school ya on the points, too (yep!)? At least he knew where & what those parts were, and what they did! Just never worked on ’em before. Chompin’ at the bit, he was!
Y’all take care,
Mike in FLA.

As I was taught: whats a carburator? A controled fuel leak. Whats fuel injection? a highly controlled fuel leak.

Now that would be a song to use your electronics gear to record! That would go viral. Copyright it and license it to a tool company for a Christmas advertising campaign. But definitely copyright it or some lowlife marketing guy will steal it. I can just hear that playing on a tool truck stereo…

Noid light…that was a new one on me, had to look it up. Can’t say I ever had the pleasure of using said tool. Guess I’m lucky in that I haven’t NEEDED to!
I’m always learning something new from you Dio. Thanks!
