So, I want to welcome y’all back to the Cog speaks, and I gotta got a few things on my mind lately. and you can hear me squirming around in my chair, getting comfy, whatnot,,,
You know? This whole government shutdown thing. Let’s talk about that for a few minutes. What does it even mean? What A government shut does, do to you. What does it do to me? Honestly, I don’t see much of anything happening, uh, I don’t notice a change in my day-to-day. I don’t notice, you know? Oh, Hell, I don’t know. I don’t notice anything about this crap. Um, And that right, there tells me that, you know, the government,
It’s distraction. It’s pure distractions. Just A way to keep people riled up So that they they don’t know what to do with themselves: And (this) just reinforces everything that I’ve thought since, you know, well. 2008. (but it) Started a little bit before that. I mean, you could take it all the way back to 1991. When I was sitting in Kuwait and looking up at Black Skies and Getting rained on with black rain that left black puddles everywhere, and you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face at Noon, But I don’t know. Yeah, it’s just: Why do we need government? That’s Honest question. It’s not rhetorical. Why do we need government? Day to day, Law Abiding citizens go about their business Without need of government. We don’t need somebody to tell us ‘you do this, you do that. You don’t do that!’ And Most of us; We don’t even think about it! We know what’s right, we know what’s wrong. So, what does government do for us?
I’ll tell you what it does. For me, It reduces the size of my paycheck. (it) Takes money from me. Every time I turn around. And what do we have to show for that? Okay, yeah, we got roads. We got bridges. That’s great. You know Private Industry does the same damn thing. In fact, most of the roads and the bridges that we have today, (they) Were not built by government. They were built on government contract, by private companies, doing private company things.
Why don’t we get rid of the middleman? How do we get rid of the middleman?!? That’s the biggest question. How do we get rid of the middleman called government?
Now, before you all think that I’m calling for a revolution or Civil War, or whatever you know. No, I’m not. I’m I’m what I am Thinking At this point is… They talk about Reducing the size of government, but we never see it, you know? They talk about reducing sizes, the government budget. They never do that. And the only thing they do is, you know, well, we have just saying, you know, Money printer, go burr, Uh, it’s all it is anymore. And that’s (why) We went from millions of dollars of deficit back in the early 1900’s. to trillions of dollars of deficits Now, and there’s no, There’s no end of insight. In fact, you know All the stuff that Mr Trump is doing, Mr President Trump.
If anything good is coming out of it, it’s a Band-Aid,
But I don’t think it’s all going to be good. I think a lot of it’s,,,
It all comes back down to us to people. There’s whereit wouldn’t exist without us! At all! right here. We comply: Let them take money from us Non-Stop. We own homes, but we don’t own homes, because if we don’t pay the taxes on the home, they come and kick us out and take it and turn around and sell it to somebody to make up the the taxes that we didn’t pay.
All right, I’m going off on a Tax rant right now. (I’m gonna) think I’m gonna back off and stop. We were talking about government shutdown And there’s,,, One other thing that I could think that a government shut down Would affect is immigration. Because the Ice Is a federal agency and well, if they’re not doing their job because they’re shut down And then, well, the immigration might increase again. I don’t think that’s gonna be the The side effect at this time. I think that what’s going to happen is With that is the Immigrants, here, are just gonna (be) ‘like, okay, well, We’re safe for a little while’. and maybe a few (are) Gonna look into the future and see what their future isisn’t all that bright here and decide ex-immigrate.
Is that even word,
but is that a bad thing? No,
Now I have no problems with immigrants that come here legally with the intent of becoming American citizens. I have no problem with that at all. I mean (the) majority of this country, Their ancestors were immigrants, And they came here.(and) Integrated: became Americans. What I do have a problem with? Is people coming here to take advantage of our system And Come here to take advantage of the system, Get educated and then take that Back home to their original country.
Some ways, that’s not a bad thing. It means that Our mentality of American is spreading to the world, and Some people would say that’s bad. Some people would say, that’s great. And I personally think that The Americans got it right!
What is An American? Somebody that will stick their finger in the eye and say, uh, I ain’t doing it that way? I’m doing it my way.
We’re obnoxious, where Revolutionaries we’re Contrarians, we’re obstructionists,,, But look at what America has done for the world Since its Inception 250 years ago. Poverty Was the norm. Now, it’s an exception, Even those in poverty now; Eat better than King Louis XIV. We pulled the world out of the freaking gutter.
Technology.
Started with the Industrial Revolution Back, Late 1700s or mid 1700s, actually, but it really progressed more Through the 1800s. So 150 years.
And here we are trying to get off. this prison planet. Technology is exceeding our Evolutionary scale, that’s for damn certain. I mean 20 years,,, We went from flip phones to smartphones that have more Computing power than the Computers in the 60s: that took (up) entire buildings. We carry a computer around, in our pocket, that exceeds that of of The biggest smart computer in the 60s.
And we don’t know where it’s all going to go. I mean, it’s With AI, and AI, rewriting itself, Designing new chips. We don’t know where this is going. It’s, it’s almost out of control! Almost!! and Well, I don’t want to get too much into that, because that’s completely different subject matter.
What we do have is a government that is out of control. This shutdown Proves that we don’t need it, At least to me it does, I mean, maybe I’m wrong, you know? Put your comments. And you know, Put your thoughts into comments for me. Maybe we can come to,,,, That’s the whole point! We need to talk. We need to talk About these things because If we don’t come up with Solutions amongst ourselves, We have a government to tell us what the solution is. And we’ve seen their Solutions. Their Solutions. Suck! Ass! Pure and Simple! Look at covid, you know, the covidiocy back in 2020? Their Solutions,,, Weren’t! Solutions.
We don’t need to government people. We don’t need them. What we need is to control, how, WE think. We think Teach the young, To think! Critical thinking skills. That’s a, that’s the big thing I see lacking. Don’t teach them how to think. Just teach them, to think. Let me rephrase that Don’t teach them what to think. Teach them how to think! For themselves! Critically!
That! Isn’t easy! that is not easy. I know that, Um, I was never a good student. I was never a good student. C’s and D’s B’s and C’s later on, as I started realizing it, it’s just a game, Um, Some classes A’s, depending on how interested I was.
But I wasn’t a good student because I didn’t want to conform to the education standards. Now,,, is that because I was taught to think? That is the one thing I can say that I can, you know, drop in Dad’s lap. As a positive! Um, he thought us kids to think for ourselves.
I think that’s The legacy We need to leave behind for all of our children, kids.
Think!
Question!
Always question well, you know, it’s right up there. At the top of my blog: question, everything. I don’t care who you heard it from. Question. Find out why Does it fit? Does it fit with your standards? If it doesn’t: Get rid of it? Move on, Pick up something better. And that, that I think right there is human nature: To better ourselves. In all ways, and it’s like the whole industrial Revolution. That was Bettering the human race. Some people would say it didn’t better us. Some people would say it made us weaker, and in some ways, they’re correct. Um, Lord knows that we couldn’t compete Against the Cromagnon, In their environment. But boy, that sure couldn’t compete with us in ours, could they?
So in some ways it’s all relative, Um. Relativity, Not talking Einstein. Just Six of one half dozen, the other. It’s all relative. It’s like, you know, taking this back to the government and finances, the economies, You know. If you look, You’ll notice that people will will talk about How much the government spent Back in the day and that what Would be the equivalent of today. And You think about that. It’s like, okay, so they spent 30 million dollars on World War One and had a deficit a 15 million or something like that. And, You know, in today’s equivalent, that would be several trillion dollars deficit. Well, the reason for that is, our money has been debased past Relevancy, and yet, It’s still Accepted Worldwide, For now! for all Commerce. Yeah, Our Commerce! Petro dollar! We got the BRICS coming up the back side, wanting Stomp all over us. Well, you know, that’s, that’s life. That’s, life when you want to build an Empire. Empires collapse; They rise. They fall, And some ways I think we’re right there on that edge of that ball. Look at our government shutdown. They can’t even keep their shit straight! About the only thing I can’t say. Talking about government, shut down, and everything and the government budget. I do know that if any of us commoners the peons, whatever you want to call us, If any of us ran our finances, the way the government runs their finances. We would be in prison, Just. They would lock us up. Why do we not hold our government to the same accountability as we hold ourselves? I don’t understand that. I’ve never understood that. That’s one of the reasons why I, I, It’s it frustrating. We hold ourselves accountable to levels that we do not hold our representatives accountable, And it shows it shows because our world is a mess. Our world is a mess, and I’m not just talking America. I’m talking all of the western world. Not culture! World! Culture wise, we’re fine. We have a diversity of cultures, Different ways of thinking, different ways of speaking, different ways is just everything multiple religions. We have The basis to grow from this point, but we have one big problem, and that is, Our governments Do not represent us. Honestly, think about that. They don’t represent us.
I think I’m going to drop that subject right there for a few minutes, because, uh, Well, I’m starting to get to a point where I’m just going to rant anti-government anti-government anti-government.
Let’s take it back to the personal level. The individual. Kevin Baker’s blog site, The Smallest Minority, has a quote from Ayn Rand, “The smallest minority on Earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be Defenders of minorities. Ayn Rand,,, That right there.
How many governments Actually represent the individual?
Answer? None.
They can’t Because they are a collective. No government on this planet Can represent the individual because they are Collective governments. And yet, The individual, At the end of the day, Is solely! Solely! Accountable to themselves, not a government, Not society! Themselves! Did you Live your life to your best ability? Today?
We all asked that we may not ask that it Consciously, But we do ask ourselves that every day, anybody Worth their salt, Asks themselves that Every night before they close their eyes. Did I live to my best? Like I said, not consciously, but it’s there. If you didn’t. You’re probably going to have a rough night’s sleeping, Right? Agree with me or not. Put it in comments. Let me know.
Individuals.
Government,
Government shutdowns. Do you see the joke? Do you see the joke and guess what the jokes on us? They take our money. What is money?
Money is just a representation of time. If you really boil it down, that’s all it is. It’s a representation of time, of energy spent.
And they take it from us. Look at the taxes. That tax your income That tax money you spend, on money that you’ve already paid taxes on. They tax you for your property. They tax you for your time. That’s really what it boils down to. They tax you for your time. They tax you just to breathe. Every day.
Yeah, I don’t like government.
Does it show?

Hard to find anything to disagree with here, Bro.
Still sound like yer from around Cincy, though😉 That’s a’ight, too. Several friends from around there. It could ALWAYS be worse-er.
Did VERY well on the %$^& dam tax issue, too. Most folk have no freakin idea what a rip off that sheeiitt is. At EVERY level!! Lessee – I pay property tax extortion every year (goes up every year) for property I supposedly already own (see how that works if yer late on paying yer extortion $$); bought and paid for with $$ that’s already been taxed (sales tax) when I bought it; from the $$ that was taxed from my paycheck (payroll tax) which it was taken without my informed consent. Just a threat of the IRS. Is there a problem here?
No complaints at all, on my part, on any level of the post. I personally think (from my own ‘sperience) that most folk are afraid to jump into any of this. And – that’s not too difficult to unnerstand, is it?
Bottom line is that, IMHO, we actually do need *some* govt, although at a HUGELY reduced level, to do it’s Constitutional duties. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s what led to the USA being the world’s powerhouse that it was in an earlier time. And, *IF* we’re ever unleashed again, we’ll be so again. I think that’s the very thing that *they* are so scared of.
Nuff said fer now. More thinks needed.
Y’all take care,Mike in FLA.

I agree, to some extent, that there needs to be “some government”,,, read Micheal Z Williamsons “Freehold” series for what I feel would be the IDEAL amount of government. Teaser: the leaders of the government didn’t get voted it. They had to build up a small FREE MARKET empire, then give it away to become ‘Citizens’. Everyone in society is expected, BUT NOT REQUIRED to pay into the system. The disadvantage of not paying in means that if someone sues you, you will be paying all the costs of your defense upfront, not leaning on the system you had already been supporting. Micheal goes into great depth of how it works without distracting from the story-line, and TO ME, it seemed like perfection, even how its resilience when confronted with a plague of statists from (future, this is all future) planet Earth (which in that future is the epitome of Progressive Policy, including the total surveilance state.)

Y’all take care,
