Freeday!

its that time of year again, things are slowin’ up in the J.O.B.

So yesterday, Son of Bossman came by my site where I was with a crew putting up decorative fencing and let us know that ‘don’t worry about coming in tomorrow.  Text dad and let him know when you cut loose so he can cut your checks for you.”

sigh,,,   Was rather lookin’ forward to a full week, or nearly full week.

So here I am,,, early mornin’ no where to go, no plans laid,

thinkin’.

Gonna go out and play with Cosmos a wee bit, get him wound down some, and get myself limbered up,,,,

Not that I need limbered up for what I will be doing,,,    Gonna take the time off and put it to use for you my readers.  Or should I say “my listeners”,,,    Yah, gonna sit and work on a new episode of ‘The Cog Speaks’ and try to make this one a bit longer than 10 minutes.   Several items I’ve stewin’ in the brainium.   Gonna do it a little different too : Mind Map laid out, but no script,,,   almost straight from the hip, with all the hiccups and oopsies involved.  (well, not all,,, I am gonna edit it for clarity and long pauses.   Most of my editing is actually ‘highlight section, hit delete’ because the pauses can be rather long while I get my thinks together.)  

And I really wish my house were at the end of a dead end road,,, Theres actually quite a bit of traffic out there during the day as Da and Unk go about being thier retired selves,,,  

I had a section of the last podcast (that didn’t make it to final cut) that kept messin’ with my head.  While I was in playback, I kept hearing a fourwheeler pulling up, but when I went to check and see: nothing and no one.    It was background noise in the recording from when Da did pull up while I was in session.    And I could’t figure out how to get rid of it without cutting my speaking to ribbons.   Fuggit, cut that whole section out, wasn’t that important,,,

Thats just one of my many learning curves on this run.    Theoretically, I could have copied the sound in a section where I wasn’t speaking, Flipped its polarity, and applied it to that whole section: Manual sound reduction.   Tricky, because you have to time it right, or you end up amplifying the sound you are trying to remove, or create some weird harmonics that are even worse.

Some of ya might ask why I don’t find a better j.O.B. and be right in asking.   I could easily find better pay, better hours, more consistent scheduling.   I have mad skills across several disciplines: there is nothing holding me back. 

Except me.

and I have my reasons.   This J.O.B. is quite convenient for me with my Da.   If I need to take off to get him to the Docs, or because he is having some issues that require my constant prescence, I CAN; and would still have a job to return to later.   That may or may not be the case with some other places; usually ‘Not’,,,

Yes, its a dead end job with no benefits, or PTO (working on that part, and looking good actually) but it gives me leeway I wouldn’t get at some other mainstream type places.  

ANd when the time comes, I do plan on cutting the anchor lines and sailing free.

Part of why I am here doing this thing, part of why I am working on that bookwriting thing (though I freely admit, that one has taken a back seat of late.)  I do more than a fair bit of writing; enough that I am on my 4th bluetooth keyboard.  I wear ’em out.  and the company I get mine through is EXCELLENT about warranty.   I’ve been through 3 keyboards, on my 4th; only bought the one.  Each gets a new warranty upon receipt; I just have to let them know I got it and the new warranty starts that day.  Keeping track of the emails is the hardest part.

ANywhooos,,, I don’t want to dive into the stuff I want to talk about here in the printed section; otherwise I may not have anything to talk about and start wandering, wildly,,,     Much like I am already doing here,,,
