Gettin’ there,,,,

New Macbook came in today. I ain’t gonna lie, I absolutely LOVE this new one. Much bigger screen, fast, OMG so fast, and hooking up all the bells and whistles, stuff is working seamlessly,,, Using a blue tooth speaker as my ‘studio monitor’ instead of cans and I have made some headway in setting up my DAW to my liking. Still working on that voice thing.

here’s the real Rub,,, My speaking voice changed a touch when I got dentures and that is my real “Grkkk!!!” that I am fighting. Its not what my mind recalls in playback and that is causing a little angst with me. I’ll sort it out. I hear my voice when I am speaking, then hear it in playback and it sounds slurred to me. Damned dentures deviated the architecture inside and so I sound (to me) like I am talking around a gob of plastic. (I AM!!! but my ‘heard’ voice doesn’t come across that way,,,)

Life goes on, and I will retrain my speaking voice in time. I am already hard at it, I guess this means I need to wear the hearing aids more often and get a better ‘feel’ for what my tongue and teeth are up to when speaking aloud.

PS: I’m VERY likely to just say to heck with it, and jump in feet first, evolve it as I fly (aim at the ground and miss) the more I work the voice, the better it will get. My biggest beef is lack of ‘real time Monitoring’ which I would have if I were using a true DAW, like my Old MackieTT24. This delay between speaking and playback may be hindering me.

    Ain’t got full dentures, but do have partials – still ain’t used to em. Same fer the hearing aids! Got the 3rd one covered, too – been having 4 eye balls since about 6 year old – was in 1st grade whatever age it were – way back in the dam stone age, it were!

    I too struggle with slurred speakage. Yet I’ve had dentures going on twenty-five years ! I blame my big fat tongue having difficulty moving around tighter spaces heh. Tho you might have a valid point on hearing aids being a key factor in inunciation . I’m on my second set of ears now , at least the new ones have rechargeable batteries and are adjustable for pitch. A person gets so used to the quietude and peaceful silence that wearing them can be painful. Tho to communicate, enunciation and being able to hear others speaking , do have much value.
