Used to be LOTS more vegetation here and the campsites ‘felt’isolated and sorta private, not so much now.

This was the cabin one of the krew rented for the weekend. $139/nite +a $30 housekeeping fee. DIRT CHEEP for what it was: hotels within 20 minutes of this place are comparable in price and nowhere near as nice.

And a’yup!!! Dio wussed out and slept on the couch both nites 😁😁😁

If you are in the area, desiring a relaxing weekend with access to some relatively sedate adventure, give this place some love. Foxfire Campgrounds. No affiliation, no kickbacks to me: just a desire to keep one if my favorite river scenes alive and well. Plenty of rafting places are back up and running strong, despite the river changes. The river can still goose your adrenaline, and we DID have a good float and new learning curves thrown at us. The last rapid has changed completely, but was still challenging.

All in all, a weekend I NEEDED.

Don’t feel like starting a new post, so will just expand on this’un.

There are a lot I could say about things I saw down in Hartford, but it’s been less than a year, half of that was under the tyro time where NO ONE could get anything done there, and things are still sort of wonky for all of that. It IS making a comeback from Intensive care, I can only hope the growth I witnessed there this weekend continues. The River has changed, some, and I have heard that the upper is ‘gnarlier’ than it was (and from vids I have seen, a bit easier to access this evolution.) That could be a thing.

Keeping my nose out of the current run of propaganda swill. I can see it for what it is, DISTRACTION from the Real Issues,,,, It may be legit, and there should be criminal prosecutions from it all, but the way its being SPUN, its distraction, pure and simple. Keep an eye on the little nation on the Med and its fun and games, and that Kokefueled Tyro near the BlackSea,,, Shits getting STRANGER, and more dangerous.

Time will tell.
