Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Buildin’ the positivity

Takin’ my own advice and working on getting rid of those negative vibes.    Part of that is reading ‘Good news’ things: most definttely steering clear of the Streams right now,,,,

I’ve listed this book a time or five on this site, and if you haven’t read it, I highly suggest doing so. (and yes, I get a small cut if you buy from that link.  TY)

Another thing I am doing to regain my bright and shiny demeanor,,,

Goin’boatin’

Sun’s actually making an appearance today though rain is in the forcast, and I am going to go get my arse wet.    Been neglecting that side of my life for a bit (mostly due to “LAZY” but weather has been something of a deciding factor too.  Or should I say ‘An Excuse’ I leaned on,,,)

Lil Sis will be in late today.  Not really a visit as much a stop over between points.    Not mad about it: show up as you can when you can and Da will be happy as a pig in shitte about it.    He doesn’t want to go anywhere anymore, so the fam needs to come to him,,,,

Eldest Sis called Da yesterday and was asking him about the weather.  ‘Meh,,, rainin’.   How’s yours?”    “Rainin’ too”  “I guess we’ll be seeing that in a couple of days?” “Not likely, I’m in Greece.  LOL”

DAMMIT!!!    Feelin’ jealous     Would love to go kayakin’ on the Med,,,,

But think about that,,,, She’s clear around the other side of the world and they were talking like a call between houses in 1980’s suburbia,,,,    HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!    Just that little bit of tech, taken for granted these days shows just how much richer the ENTIRE species is compared to just 100 years ago,,, Hell, just 30 years ago.  (I recall my phone bill talkng to Georgia after she returned home in ’93.   A 15 minute call to Australia was over $300.)   Now, we can send ‘letters’ (emails) for NOTHING and hit several recipients with the press of a button.   You’re reading this somewhere in the world, for free!!  I get readers from about 20 different countries, and I pay nothing to get ‘my word’ out.   (and I could increase my readership, if I so chose, by paying less than a days wages a year, for advertising.   I don’t have think I have that much to say, so I leave it as is.)

We live in an incredible time, and so much is taken for granted, and quickly.   My first cellphone was a nokia back in the mid 90’s.   I was one of the first in my group of peeps to go ‘techy’.  (and admittedly, there are days where I miss the freedom of ‘the phones were chained to the walls’.) At that time, a laptop was roughly the same size as what we currently have, but dumber than the smartphone you carry in your pocket these days.   My home computer was a tower with a vaccuum tubed monitor and generated more heat than my microwave did.   Today, my smartphone has more uses than the laptop (that is 20X better than that old tower computer)  and while I dislike all the advertising crap, it’s still better than my old nokia (kinda,,, not as rugged) and the system is much broader (when was the last time you paid roaming charges? Do you even recall roaming charges? LOL)

The information revolution,,,,   The first chapter in Matt’s book is called ‘When Ideas have sex’.    and his argument is that we are hands and arms above the other species because our ideas and knowledge procreate amongst us.    With the ubiquitous level of information we carry with us, access with libraries that rival the Libraries of old, instantly available at the touch of a soft key on a touch screen.    Of course there are downsides, but thats the nature of evolutions.    Some good, lots bad, and the good eventually rises to the surface.  (or if you prefer; the foundry analogy, the Dross rises to the surface and the alloys remain below.)    WE are in an incredible time, and there are going to be ups and downs, good and bad, and you may not be readily able to see the differences.
