So why all the excitement?
Its not for me, that’s for certain. Yes, I am excited as heck about the idea of HUMANS getting off this damned rock.
Why?
Because we have always migrated away from power mongers. The Expansion of this country is a great example of that. The more territories opened up, the more people left the hustle and bustle and faced the unknown “To live as they saw fit”
We need that as a species. So what if we screw up and the laws of Physics destroy us. Hopefully, we leave a message of what when and how, maybe even WHY, and the next guy on the trail will NOT screw up,,, We evolve,,,
I’m long enough in tooth, I can’t see me making the trek: but someone will, and for them, I am excited beyond words. I see a future again. Not my future, but our species future. And it isn’t trapped on this prison planet. We may (currently) be relegated to our solar system only, but give it time. Who knows, in a hundred years, (or less) someone is going to make that breakthrough of FTL, or figure out wormholes, or something,,, I don’t think it will happen while we are stuck in this gravity well. I think the solution is out there waiting for us to find it, but to find it, we MUST get off this rock, FIRST.

Being this close to Canaveral, I can see launches when I care to go outside and watch. Did it all through my childhood – and now, my extended childhood😉

Some fantastic pix and action in that vid. Great catch of the booster. Too dam bad about the ship, though. But…. heluva live action when it hit atmo.
As always, more work to do – both on the ship and it’s engines.

I can only hope that in the next few years, we see a person walking on the moon again. AND NOT, some government employee, but a private citizen working for a free enterprising company. Its now a race between SpaceX BlueOrigin, and some others, to include, the Chinese (who are obviously stealing or buying information if what I have seen is ‘Real’.)

It’s going to be outstanding when they start shooting Elons BFR’s from here . They are building a new launch pad for Star Ship out at the Cape now. Texas is a good place to develop in my opinion, let Cuba catch the RUD’s. My house is only across the Indian River from the Cape.
The roar of that monster BFR will be awesome. The shuttle was loud but not compared to a Saturn five and the BFR is supposedly much more so. Can’t wait…

The Falcon 9 with two moon-units launched from the Cape last eve, right about the time I was posting this. Booster retrieved as well,,, Those have landing gear, which I find extremely interesting. Still requires GOOD landing zones, but not limited to a specialized tower like the BFR is (so far,,,)

Here is the thing. Where ever we go there we are. There is one chance of ‘escape’ and i do not believe many want to see it nor care to see it. Realized some time ago that when the people came to the Americas, ” to escape” the disease followed them.
This rock and all the other rocks that make up this universe were a Gift, His Creation, what has this ‘world’ done with it and His Word?
Our Nature without Him is the problem. Until we (mankind) change the disease will follow us wherever we go.

Do you believe me the Fool? Of course there is some government involved. Do I believe Musk to be of Stellar character? ROFLMAO!!!! yah right!!!
The things exciting me are TOOLS, like cars and trucks and planes and bicycles and boots and pistols and bombs+,,,, How the tools are to be used is up to the end user, How the tools are used will show the true character and integrity of the user, NOT THE TOOL ITSELF.

no smooth sailing ahead that i can see. lots of chop on the horizon and ya might have heard the saying “Wind before waves, the good ship is saved. Wave before wind, pray if you’ve sinned” We haven’t felt the winds of change yet, but we sure are seeing the waves from it, and that REALLY starts up this week.
