Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

INFLATION

Francis does his cover of it here

And I have done so in meatspace on more than a few occasions.   My favorite is using the 1911 as the value guide.

Full discussion can be found here.

At one time, (and still, but the cost has changed significantly) the USG produced $20 gold coin; one troy ounce of gold with a face value of $20.   For obvious reasons, and maybe not to the uninformed, that $20 gold peice is gonna run you well over $2000 in todays Reserve notes.

Its not that the value of the coin has changed, but the value of the NOTES used.    Thats inflation.   They INFLATE the ‘money’ supply and what remains is worthless paper (in truth, it reverts to its’ intrinsic value.).

And there was a DuckTales comicbook about what happens when you increase the supply versus the available goods for purchase.    I wish I could find that again, since it explained INFLATION so neatly that even a 6 year old could understand how inflation is subtle theft hidden behind careful wording.   sigh,,, so much lost in the foggy past, even with our tech today, finding snippets like that is trying to find a needle in a hayfield.

Not the one I recall,  but hits all the points

I don’t know what the plans are, IF ANY other than ‘tarrifs’, to bring that supply back in line with reality.   The National Debt is so far off the hook, it can never be paid back, and I don’t think the government has any intentions of even trying.   The Banks on the other hand,,,,    Try and play that game as an individual and see how rapidly you end up in trouble.     Maybe doing away with Debtors prison wasn’t such a hot idea,,,   (not that we could toss the poli-tickians into it for creating this mess,,,)

EVEN SO, shrinking the size and scope of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is not a bad thing.   Doing so will cut back a lot of the problems with overbudget spending by simply reducing the size of the bill.   Serious cuts are needed, and not just in the spending on welfare and the like, but in salaried positions that don’t actually do a damned thing but hold the people down, crippling innovation and drive.  (if you know before you start a business, that you will need to beg permission and jump through hoop after hoop after hoop in regulations and Permits, there is a strong chance you won’t bother.)   Like Elon talking about the Sharks,,,,

“Am I in a bad comedy skit?”

We all are, and we are the butt of the joke.   And the Comedians are the bankers IMO.

================================

Rained out, again.    Seasonal work sucks on that note.   Rolling into holiday seasons and the pay gets cut by weather.   sigh,,,,,      Well, not weather alone.   right now people are playing close to the bone financially, and that cuts into everyone’s payroll to some extent.  Our business also has the weather factor added in so this time of year means tighter paychecks and snug that belt tighter to get through.

No matter what happens over the next few months, with Trumpeds efforts to curtail a man-made disaster in finances, things are gonna get tight(er) for everyone.    ANY benefit that may come about is going to be in the future, not an immediate return.   The biggest thing that he could do is deregulate energy production: that would lower the costs on everything across the board, and while not a complete solution, would be a start.

And kill the department of education.   KILL IT.     I wouldn’t mind working one day a week FOR FREE MIND YOU, to teach kids about the economy, REAL money, and a lot of the other things that ARE NOT TAUGHT.    Knowledge is the ultimate currency, information is a commodity (and it shows in our current economic state.) and if you have neither, you are a destitute peon.    (and lord, how I wish I could get more people to learn how to ENJOY reading,,,   Not just for the enjoyment, but the fact that readers tend to be better, more rounded THINKERS,,,,)

rambling,,,, icky weather,,,  BORED KATS, so my focus keeps getting hit broadside by two Tomkats playing,,,,  one of which weighs 14#

Interesting – yer use of Gods Own Pistol (and ammo) fer a comparison. Here’s my personal addition:

Bought my Combat Commander with a satin nickel finish in 1980. Had to order it from Colt because none of the shops suppliers had one.

Got 100 rounds, a soft zipper rug, and a very basic cleaning kit with it. The total was right around $375. Still how I compare prices. And Bro Dio hit it right on the head – it’s the debasement of the Fed Notes themselves.

    4 L’s, y’all! ‘Specially the learnin part!

    Y’all take care,
