Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

FYI-YMMV (updated)

Kinda sorta did an experiment this past week.    I went back to my old diet for 7 days.   Mostly due to ‘budget cuts’ with small paychecks and the fact that the bills don’t shrink unless you pay them (over pay them and NOT use the damned cards,,,,)

Had been doing the Paleo thing,,, lots of meat, few carbs (and my biggest issue with the carbs is ‘pop’, or Soda if you are westycoasty,,,   Getting better about it though.)

One week.

One STINKING seven day period.

It started up tuesday evening, and at first I was thinking ‘just a rough day at work’,,,

The pains were creeping in.   My arthritic joints were starting to flair, and back pains were creeping down into my hip joints,,,   This was the NORM late last year when I decided I needed to do something, and then read that Jordan Peterson (inspired by his daughter) went all meat diet; lost wieght and lost pains, (that last being the selling point to me.)

Keep to the experiment,,,,    Went ahead tuesday night with the ‘new/old’ diet,   heavy on carbs (pasta) partial meat line up but some veggie stuffs too (not my olives that have become a staple.)

I could barely move yesterday I hurt so damned bad.  I needed a couple of Excedrin with my morning coffee to get going.   Felt like I had pulled my groin the pain the hips was so bad, as well as being near crippled with back pain.

FUCK THIS!!!    Went back to an all meat diet, low on the carbs (as low as I can go without full cold turkey on cocacola,,, my weakness,,,) High protein, few starches, if any.

and while today, I still hurt, its not the crippling, knock me to the floor pains that I was getting on Tuesday.   I can stand upright without twinges in the spine.

Oh, And my BP had been spiking too: I felt lightheaded Tuesday eve, and checked: 139/98 RESTING,,,,    Yeah, no wonder I was feeling light headed.     Tonight, after a meal of Ribeye, slab of cheese and green and black olives,,,, 118/70,,,,  this right after eating when BP goes up a touch for digestive purposes.

Modern foods are killing us,,,   The Government outline of ‘healthy foods’ is a marketers ploy NOT BASED IN FACTS (and that has been proven)   The obesity problem is NOT in how we eat, but WHAT we eat.    I recall my grandmothers breakfast tables from when I was a wee sprout: loaded to the gills and nowhere to sit.  Grab a plate and find a spot somewhere in the house, seconds and thirds encouraged (eat up or the hogs get the slop,,,,)   And not one fat person in the house!!!   Granted all of the men were workhorses with hard labor jobs, and they needed that store of energy to get to the next meal, but none of them were like the blobs I see in the grocery stores, or wallyworld, these days.   Land whales is what I ‘affectionately’ call them.  And the most offensive to me are the kids: under 18 and showing ROLLS of fat and signs of disease that are common among the overwieght.  Things like asthma, skin issues, BODY ODORS,,,

So I am back on the Paleo diet, not because I can afford it, but because I CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO.   I’d rather be a little more broke than teetering on heart failure (which I am genetically inclined towards)   Ain’t afraid of dyin’, just have no desire to go there just yet,,,,Especially when I can make a choice to hold that at bay ‘just a little longer’.

Watch your health, watch what you eat and how your body reacts to it.   My diet may not work for you, your’s likely doesn’t work for me.  One week is long enough to find out if something is working or not; two will show a decided difference.   Your body processes REAL FOOD so much faster and easier than some of the junk for sale out there.   And that includes fastfood places,,,   There are some that have decent food, but most are right there with GMO crap that your body has no clue how to process well.  (and that includes the beef that is fed with GMO corn,,,,   If my Kat won’t touch the stuff, its probably a bad idea for me as well.)

Ok, stepping off my box,,,

  1. Woody Allen has various issues… to put it mildly… but I do appreciate this line of his:

It’s not that I’m afraid to die. I just don’t want to be there when it happens.”
