Not “gone Galt”
Even though I am keeping my mouth mostly shut on world events. I’m watching, but keeping my opine’s held tightly in most cases. I will step and yell if people start jumping on some bandwagon with no thoughts involved,,,, We don’t have the luxury of pure gut reaction in this day and age. Our country is not ‘what it was’ and I don’t think it has been for a long while.
WWW has a post up on what makes a country stable, and I would highly suggest reading the whole thing and thinking about where we stand ‘As a Nation;
Personally, I think the shit is gonna hit the fan much sooner than his prediction but I am no prognosticator either,,,,
As for going Galt,,, Naw,,, thought that many many times in the past, but here I am still in the mix of society, albeit on the fringes, but still here, still pluggin’, still ‘existing’…. Sarah does a pretty good post on this thing today too,,, and she is dead on accurate that if you drop out, YOUR GONE,,, people forget you faster than last weeks rushed lunch,,, Oh, there may be a few you touched in some way that will recall your face, with fondness or anger,,, and you really don’t have all that much say in how that memory is stored (you can try, but it really boils down to the recipient, not you. There is some bad blood between myself and some in my past and I was trying like hell to be a postive vibe, and it bit me in the ass. Some of my longtime readers will recall of what I speak. Try, but the memory you create is not yours to narrate.)

Think about this,,, supposedly, there are 8 billion individuals running amok on this marble we call home. If you dropped dead tomorrow, how many of that 8B will know or care? Now make that number into a percentage.
Tiny, ain’t it?
Get out there, stop sucking the poisons that are being injected into the social streams to keep you riled up and dysfunctional. Go make something, go smell a rose, or just kick it back and watch the sunset for once. Go find a beach and build a fire and listen to the world as it’s meant to be. DO pay attention to what is happening, and try to figure out ‘the end game’,,, more for your own safety/preparation.
just keep on livin’

No boats on Buff this eve. BJ is on her rack, Lizzy in hers, the WW boats hanging by their noses from the timbers, and Lyssa is in the cradle. Seriously deep cold snap coming tonight for one but ideas abound second,,,,
I has some plans on things now, since my last post of jumbled overwhelmed winter blahs. Lyssa’s project is the least complicated and doesn’t require weather to cooperate (like Lizzy’s project with Resins and cure times,,,) Even considering some work on Duh!Kee,,, (afraid that is going to become something like the incident with Serena,,, a re-skin turned into a full rebuild and a totally different boat.) AND, I refuse to push the envelope on these little projects since I have at least three more months of these longer nights. l don’t want to get done ‘too soon’ or I wlll be right back at twiddlin’ thumbs and staring at walls; wishing to be sedated.
As to my plans for Lyssa,,, Gotzta thinkin’bout that balance issue. I’m adding 10-15# to the back hatches and she ‘levels out’ and stops plowing. There is a space behind me in the cockpit where I could move my arse, but I have dallied on it because it requires me to cut the seat pan up a little bit. (pan is touching the back bulkhead currently but that is on a bevel so it extends INTO the cockpit quite a ways. ) With her age, her condition (beat up but still kickin’ ass) and resale potential (not much) to heck with it,,,Make her mine, right? Done right, other than that cut pan, everything could be moved back to factory with ease. The point of this being,,, it takes 15# a foot behind me to bring her level, so if I move ME, back a couple of inches,,, by my theory, I should achieve the same effect. (and this may be like my idea of lowering the seat pan in Lizzy to lower my CoG for stability: did jack shit for such,,,) If it works, great, if not, I learn something new. next project,,, (even if moving that pan back doesn’t work, it WILL make my getting into the cockpit easier. She’s a might narrow for my long legged self. Maybe not as easy as getting into the Necky cockpit on the Erg, but better than now.)(I can sit in the seat of the Necky with my feet out and pull my feet in after. In ALL of my other boats, I need to sit on the back deck and get my legs in first, or I ain’t getting in.)
Anywhoossseee,,,, temps are falling well below the freeze point tonight, fire is built and warming the house, but I need to get an armload in the house to hold me over the night. Me do not like running out to the shed in zero dark freeze your tootsies off cold. And somehow, I need to find a place to stack that wood with all the furries piled in front of the stove in anticipation of the oncoming cold. Yup, dawg and kats living together and within paw reach of each other. Cute, but obnoxious when you need to access that space,,,, and they have that accusing look down pat,,,,
