The Hidden side of self

I talk all the time about the KlownKar of feely brain, sometimes known as the unconcious brain,,, (and the little fucker needs taken out and beaten some days,,,,)

I noted today when I was grocery shoppiing for the week, what my choices are, not thinking about neccasarily WHAT I was buying, but in the packaging itself. I always buy stuff to put aside for the future, just in case (and you should be too,,, No one knows when this shit could go full sideways and upside down) but today I noted that I was buying high in carbs, high in protein stuff, in small packages (pay more that way, bad choice, with one exception: BACHELOR, hello!) and that’s fine, but what I noted was it was all stuff I would choose if I were packing for a long kayak trip. Not a lot of space taken up with high content stuff, small enough packs that it can be spread around to distribute weight (and avoid total loss in case of swamped compartments) and actual Good For You foods, if a little heavy on the carbs (but you WANT the carbs when you are pounding down miles,,,,)

Currently, what I have on shelf with what I bought today, I could go a month at sea and not have one single hungry day. I even have instant coffee (better bad coffee than NO coffee.) in packets for individual cups (Bustelo, which in all honesty, is pretty damned good for instant crap. I had to try one, cuz if I can’t drink it here, I won’t drink it EVER,,, wasted purchase in that case: this one wasn’t.)

Instant coffee, Canned meats (fish with low preservatives) RICE, lots of RICE, Vegetable packets, both Freezed dried and some vacuum packed to death, more canned meats (not Spam), quick pasta packs (side dishes that will make a meal for one.) trailmix makings, dried fruits and nuts in individual packs, and some smaller spice packets that can be sealed up in a double ziplock bag.

What I have currently on hand, will fill to overflowing, a twenty liter dry bag. I wouldn’t pack it like that (see above) but it will fill it to the point I couldn’t close it.

You would think my mind was preparing to Get Out of Dodge via Kayak or Backpack or something, ( I sure wouldn’t want to hump this stuff but could if need be. Heavy,,, about like two cases of MRE’s.)(thats one serious advantage kayaks have over Hiking, You can take the kitchen sink so long as you don’t need to portage or anything.)

Yes, my thoughts had leaned that way all week, but this has been growing for over two months, I didn’t purchase it all at once (about $300 worth of goods,,,)

So either my Sub is reacting to my thoughts, or my Sub has been seeing something in the larger world and is acting accordingly. That would play into the ‘Something wicked this way comes” feels of the world lately,,,, Still, Klowny Sub needs to start sending some cues to Active Brain and say “um, dood, shits worse than you think,,,,”

Or it could be a bit of both and I am willing to bet that way. Wish the rest of the world could get with the program: maybe this shit would get pulled off its pedestal and put to rights before it breaks.

There is a serious discconnect between reality and Government, and it grows wider every single day it seems. Why are we not pulling these asshats from their roving limos on the way to steal more from us, and tarring and feathering them? I would say the “L” word, but I don’t wanna get the WP ban hammer swinging my way; not just yet.

And I see no way to fix the damage at this stage. I think that is the worst part of it. I can see “after” but I can’t see a fix that doesn’t include collapse first.

Enough,,, It makes me want to go out and double down on the purchases I described above (by the way, this is ON TOP OF, the preps I have for ‘Shelter in place’,,,, I won’t be going hungry, but I will have to operate SmellSEC in a big way. (I’ve discussed this before,,, )
