Flights of whimsey

Oh, boy, that totally sums up yesterday,,,

Expensive day at that,

BUT,

The only thing I purchased that I ‘didn’t’ need was the boat. Bought a new (brand new) mattress that has been needed since before my Mum passed away in 2020. Stretching it out, but the back issues have started to return, and I can’t be having that,,,,

Frugal bastard I am, but I will spend as I need to (or in the case of boats, as I feel like it,,,, LOL)

Spent the whole day away from home, work,,, Da: and got some much needed respite from the mundane and tiresome. Even managed a little water time. Probably should have played more, but I did what I did and was content with that. No, Lyssa did not see water (and why I say I should have played more) but I didn’t feel like lugging TWO kayaks up that hill to the Buffalo,,,, One thing the new one has on all of my boats: Weight. She is light as a feather compared to BJ or Lyssa,,, maybe 35# equal to the Duh!k.

The long boats hover in the mid to high 60’s, weight-wise.

Not gonna bore y’all with boat details though,,,

but I am looking around for places that I can take the new boat out and play a bit, get some seat time in her and play with ‘moves’ like ferries, getting into eddylines, peelouts,,,, The things that you need to be able to navigate river water. Don’t need much, but it does require current.

And the leaves are starting to turn,,,,

summer is over and my water time starts taking on a chillier bend. (at least the last freeze out taught me to start carrying the cold water stuff on the regular again.)

I may take Lyssa to the lake today, just cuz,,,,

But its time to go do the Domestics thing first. Voo needs to get out of the house and visit papaw and I have laundry that needs done. Gotta jump on housekeeping when I returned yesterday, so I don’t have a full day of stuff at the house,,,,

then its back to the J.O.B. to recoup some of what I spent yesterday,,,
