Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

just keep livin’

It’s been a day,,, a good day, despite the twingy back thing goin’.

I pushed too hard this week, the back is bitchin’bout it, and I REFUSE to just roll over and take it.   Took Lyssa out for a spell.

Did some shopping too.  Frivolous shopping at that: I stopped at a bookstore.  One classic I didn’t have in my library (Fahrenheit 451,,,thanks for the reminder Sarah!) and Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey (very FEW actors I like,  but he is one, and He doesn’t come off as pretentious in the few public appearances I have seen him in,,, Rather down to earth FWIW)

Haven’t started reading either yet; the first is one I read many many many moons ago, and stuck with me even to now, but Sarah pointed out that I have blank spots in my recall of it: must correct that,,,,   Will read when the dark, kold, long nights arrive and little to be done outside.   The other,,, I don’t read jacket covers, for one.  I broke open the book to a random section to sample the writing style and next thing I knew, I was   five pages in.   SOLD!!!!   (and it was on clearance so that was a bonus to me,  He already was paid his royalties since this was a major publisher, not indie and I don’t feel bad about shorting the majpubs,,,,, If you are a regular at Sarahs sites, you’ll understand.)

The back cover of the book has “Just keep livin’,” on it.  Can’t say there is any better advice in the world.

I really need to find a waterproof case for books so I can take one with me while kayaking.  It would be rather nice to find some place to camp, read, and just get away for a bit without needing to travel,,,(and not be pestered by furries wanting ‘ttentions!!!  Love ’em, but they are distracting when I want to focus,,,)   I think it would be cool to paddle to a remote place, camp and read near a fire,,,,  Call me the incorrigible romantic,,,LOL.

Lyssa did me good today.   1/2mile open water crossing, in waves, with fast movers,,,,,   Didn’t get as much distance as I would have prefered but,,,   Yeah, that back thing was an issue.  I was hoping that paddling (which uses core muscles) would loosen me up, but nopes,,, exact opposite,,, And I knew I needed to load Lyssa back up and being alone,,, Better do it before I hit Crippled Status.

you can see the return as closer to shore and slower. Hurtin’ by then

And some jackass had dropped two dogs off at the ramp.  Both female, one still at that puppy stage but full grown, the other obviously recently weaned a batch of pups (teats still droopin’)   And they were scared shitless of people, but I saw them playing as I was paddling back in, so I know they are ‘buddies’ if not related in some way.   Shit like that is why I don’t like people most days.   I left them a couple pounds of Voodoos kibble (bought while out shopping) and I hope they wander up the road to someones house and get adopted.  I don’t have the room for more, or I would have tried to rescue them.  People suck somedays,,,

And here I am at home,,, Back twinging bad, but slowly ebbing off; some ibuprofen and a good nights sleep after a hot HOT shower should do me some good.  If not, I make another appointment with the Chiro (thanks B for the Hookup, timing is everything,,,)

Just keep livin,,,  I will, and I don’t care what some people think I ‘should’ do, to do that: it’s MY life, right?  (seems to me, that I have written about this a time or two,,, usually under the ‘selfish’ maxim,,, and that to be self-less is NOT a virtue,,,, Maybe I need to re-find and revive that post,,,,)
