The Satyrday of nuthin’s

Oh, I accomplished some things, but to be honest, did a whole lot of nuthin too.

Finished a book I was reading, if that counts for something,,,,,

Started off by going to the lake with Lyssa. Was going to do a repeat run of my last run in BlueJean ‘just to see’. only the water levels are stoopid low right now and the course I was going to run was much longer and more bogged out with formerly submerged trees. I could have still done it, but it was no longer the same course and my times/distances would not have compared correctly.

and there was almost no boat traffic to speak of. I likes my waves, not glass water.

short version: I didn’t even bust the straps holding Lyssa to the Buffalo. So I went shopping instead. Picked up my usual stuff that I can’t get locally to me (35 mile one way drive to get to the store that does carry it) and I decided to cash in some ‘HF cash’ that I had been accumulating. Basically high dollar coupons that have no restrictions to use. $50 worth,,, But they did have an expiration date and that date was fast approaching. So I bought some new batteries for the handful of power tools I have from them and called it good. Even came out ahead since the batteries were reduced even more in price since I bought pairs. Granted, I pay a premium in interest rates on that card, but I ALWAYS over pay so that interest doesn’t accumulate too high. (Honestly, 20 years ago a card with these interest rates would have been laughed into obscurity, but these days? ,,,,)

I sorta feel guilty for not doing a damned thing today, but I also think we all need a ‘day off’ now and again. Today was that day for me. About the most productive thing I did was sweep and mop the house (three kats and a dawg, none of whom know how to wipe paws at the door,,,, dirt and muck do build up fast. Dawgum is the worst for it,,,) Was considering starting the tear in on Buffalo but then the rain predicted arrived and all of those ions floating around the atmosphere damned near knocked me out: DID knock out the kats,,, but they sleep 16 hours a day anyway, but it left me free to get some reading in.

and its going on midnight and I am ready to call it for till the mornin’. Usual routine tomorrow, and I MAY get some kayaking in too,,,, Gotta make arrangments for getting the Buff taken care of and that means alternative transportation for some duration,,,, Sigh,,,, Is what it is, but I don’t want to be swapping large parts when in cold weather. I’m something of a puss when it comes to KOLD,,,,
