it ain’t always a bad thing,,,,
Below is my wall heater that came in Friday. The tank attached is just for testing to make sure everything works right and is going back into the shed for storage until I need it for my hot water heater.

This little puppy puts out HEAT, way more than I was expecting!!! Granted its a hot day out, but I was getting worried I wouldn’t be able to get close enough to turn it off. But that T-stat in it works good and after a few, those flames started reducing in size until they were right at the burner level, flickered and went out. The pilot light stayed lit, so I am pretty certain things are doing what they should.
Now, this isn’t the first mention of this solution, and the last time I brought it up, a commentor mentioned ‘moisture’,,, Well, considering I usually run a 2 gallon pot of water on my woodburner to keep the humidity levels in my place stable, I can’t see how the moisture this thing will add to the air could be all that bad. If it does prove to be a bit high, I just burn wood more and the levels will even out. Fact is, my house “runs dry” except in the summer when SEKY humidity swells the heck out of ALL the wood fixtures in my house. (I am not quite in the smokies, but the humidity is very similar, you see it in the fogs we get that take till afternoon to burn off.) When I built this place, I didn’t use nails because I knew the wood would “breath” and slowly work nails out. Nopes, no nails, all #9 wood screws: big heavy bastaches that took impact drivers to put in. My house doesn’t creak, EVER,,,, (except for those silly wood slats on the porch,,, but those are my security boards and I leave them squeaky,,,)
Gotta plumb the lines from the tanks to the heater and all will be good. Picked up the tanks off FB marketplace for $130 including the two stage regulator and switching valve. New would have ran me over $200 for one tank. Used I can deal with: ‘bash to fit, paint to hide’ as RAH liked to put it. Some fresh aluminum paint and they look near new unless you are right next to them and can see the old flaky paint divots hidden by the new.
Dio’s workshop is gonna stay warm this winter, youknowsit!!!! And that means warm kittehs n Dawgum; happy chil’uns that I don’t have to worry as much about if I need to stay gone for more than a day. (and no frozen pipes!!!!)
And now, I get to go to the lake,,, All the ‘fun’ stuff is out of the way, time for some spiritual release,,,
