A hatch day and leakie-leakies,,,

The DA turned a big 83 today, and turns 2 in a couple of months. Why two? Because of that Lazarus dance he pulled two years ago. Sis was in town with her SO, and we had a ‘sorta breakfast’ at his place while I did the domestics thing,,,,

Then onto the other domestics that don’t take place close,,, groceries,,,, Some of the stuff I prefer (and what helps me maintain my superb physique,,,ROFL) is only available an hour away, so I try to get as much nailed out in one shot there and back… That takes a couple of hours… BUT,,, I has my Reeds Ginger-ale and other stuff . I like the gingerale since it helps with digestion and REAL gingerale does wonders for the gut,,, And this stuff is touted as real from start to finish: no high fructose corn syrup, no GMO stuff in it. Of course I have only the advertising promo on the sides of the can to go by, but ya gotta have trust sometime, right? What I do know,,, My mild verticgo is gone, I don’t get motion sickness on waves like I had been, and indigestion is a thing of the past, no matter what I eat. Even those ‘devils spit’ pickle slices that B had last weekend didn’t leave any lingering what-nots, besides the creeping burn on the tastebuds…

back home now, and with the weather being windy as hell out there, but warm, amazingly, despite the drizzles that have been on and off all day, I decided Lyssa gets her attention she gurggled for yesterday mornin’.

opened up the seam between ring and deck with a diamond point burr, which actually wasn’t all that much. There were some serious gaps in that ring/deck fitting. I masked off the deck around the ring, cleaned it with acetone and made sure my mask wasn’t going to peel back, before I mixed up my graphite/resin mix. (I have 20 pounds of plumbago as parting powder for metal casting,,, it mixes great with resin and is as black as the inside of Joe Bidens cranium when mixed.) I noted some seeping acetone inside the ring when cleaning so there are definite leaks involved there.

Poured the mixed resin in place, guided it in with toothpicks, then ran a section of rubber spreader around to force the excess in. Sure enough, three sections with drips inside and the only way there from where they were was through the ring and deck seam. I blocked off the drips with some masking tape (to keep the drippy resin IN the crack, not inside the boat where it would harden and be useless and ugly,,) and its all sitting there curing right now. She’ll be ready for service and testing by the end of the day, so long as those temps stay above the Seven-zero mark.

Ha’tempted to take Blue jean out on the river for a spin or two. That way I can be doing something while ‘waiting for paint to dry’,,, Or I could work on Buffalo’s donor truck,,, Get that closer to pull apart mode, but there is still quite a bit of daylight on my plate today.

and you KNOW it won’t be used idly,,,,
