Well, I didn’t die,,,

but I knew in the first mile, I wasn’t any competition for the top three,,, I didn’t stop, didn’t even slow up, but I knew where the prize money was going at the end of the day, and I wasn’t it.

All good, didn’t come in dead last either. Seven in that catagory and I came in as number five. Had two more come in after I had landed each about 10 minutes apart.

Waiting on officicial time listings to appear on the website, but I think I came in at just under two hours,,, I had been on shore a few minutes getting out of gear when I checked the time. Then it was 11:30, and the race kicked off at 9:25. Not too shabby for an old fart that has been sick for an entire week and a half.

In hindsite, I could have taken Lizzie. That river was plenty high enough and where there were some shoals, I only scraped once, and that due to me being tired and misreading the water,,,, Another 5′ to the left and I would have been in clear water

I finished, under my own power, and didn’t stop once I may have stopped paddling a time or two, but not long enough to say I had ‘stopped’ AND, once I had loosened the straps on my PFD, I did better. Was having a hella time breathing at first and with the water being so clear and not deep, to heck with it, loosen those straps and BREATHE!!!!
