didn’t die, part 2
Still waiting on official times to be posted, but to be honest, not all that concerned about it.
The more I think about today, and then go back to what Mark E has been doing,,,,(and he is traveling in Cheasepeake Bay as I checked before I started this post,,,)
My efforts today “ain’t got shit on Mark”,,,,
But, I have much more respect for him and his 30-50Km day paddles,,,, I had current under me the entire time, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, but it was always headed downstream with me, and I know that isn’t always the case for Mark. There have been tracks where I can see his struggling with tidal currents, or wind, or combinations,,, 12 measlely miles seems like his early morning warm up before lunch.
I’ve some work ahead of me if I want to emulate his adventure; even if only in part,,,,
I ain’t as bad off as I expected, but to say I am feeling just fine and dandy would be a lie. That I have been sick was a worrying factor, and now that the whole thing is over, Glad as hell I did it, because my lungs feel so much clearer than they did this morning before I left out. Still feeling uggie, but Hey, I just paddled 12 miles in a heavily rockered seakayak, and did it two hours. Thats a workout: I expect to be somewhat sore, even if I had been in better shape.
but I have room to grow and KNOW IT.
