message from B today, and a follow-up email from the coordinators.   The race I had on the 23rd, has been postponed to a later day, TBD.   Reason: lack of participation.  (they have three classes of races, from paddling, to tri-athelon sort of thing, including a night navigation ‘race’.(that one intrigued me,,,)   BUT, here it is less than three weeks to race date, and there were only 12 registered attendees.  Those are the ‘show up and we give you an award’ type events,,,   Pass.

Several potential reasons as to why such a low count, considering last year was a hella turn-out for these events.   I think it’s due to several events by competitors being scheduled the same week or near abouts.  The other may be lack of promotion but I am not local to there, and they may be flyering the hell out of the area. 

and its not “canceled”, so there is that, and they did offer a 100% refund if the new date is not acceptable to the racer.  

And it gives B and I more time to get our middle aged (in his case) and over the hill (my case) carcasses a might better tuned to paddling for 13 frickin miles.   And I may even shave my furry mug for better wind resistence.   (second thought, Nawww,,, I like being the greybeard,,,,)

The white water clinic is still on for this weekend.  

Short day today.   Spent some time cleaning up the shop since I had a 3 ton trailer outside for all the crap thats been builing up from three years of fabrications.   Dude that was supposed to be loading that trailer with scrap didn’t show (fishing in TN so another told me) and he was also supposed to help me load 2-36′ setions of pipe into the shop to make a BIG rollaway gate.   I ain’t superman,, I can’t move those pipes 100Yards by my lonesome,,,    So it waits for the AM,,, tomorrow is payday, everybody had best showup,,,,
