About that TAX thing,,,,

There was a time when they would send around a tax agent to collect the local taxes,   Even at the local level, they would send an agent around to gather it up.

NOW, we ‘voluntarily’ file our taxes that were taken out by unpaid agents and sent to a central collection point and the only time tax agents show up is when what was sent is in question, OR nothing was sent at all.

Some people argue that this way is ‘best’ but I disagree.   When the agents were the collectors there was a chance to argue your points, maybe even get a break,like if the farming season had been utter shit and you had nothing to pay WITH,,,

OR, the locals felt that they were too heavily burdened and the agent would have an ‘accident’ or three.  (Funny how he tripped off his horse, landed in that rope and launched himself into a tree,,,  Damn, the boy had some serious bad luck,,,)

Sarah points out that a lottery would be a good way for the Gov to collect a ‘tax’ and that one makes a certain amount of sense, but the GOV would never go for it.   Sales tax sorta makes sense too.  You don’t want to pay, don’t buy nuthin’.   BUT Gov figured out that a sales tax can be ‘gotten around’ by black and grey markets (DUH!) and those can be hard to catch in the act (again DUH!).

One of the biggest problems I run into is mis-education.   That we have developed this view of “death and taxes” over the generations,,,    Fact was before 1913, there was no “Income Tax”, and the government ran on import taxes and excise taxes,,,   The common man didn’t outright pay those (yes, they paid higher prices for certain items, but those are choices in most cases.  NOTE that word ‘choice’ keeps coming up, keep it in mind.). There was even a point in the later 1800’s where the US Government was literally embarrassed that they had overfull coffers.   I don’t recall what they did exactly, but seem to recall they distributed that excess amongst the states/people in some fashion.  Before 1913, your earnings were YOURS to do with as you pleased, and no one could lay claim to them before you had even claimed them.  Not so much today, and there is essentially zero choice in the matter.   (oh, you can claim zero withholding, but then there is a flag on you and you will have to make extra efforts to cover your behind,,,   and if you are a sub-contractor or self employed or a business owner, you know that things get even friskier, and more frequent.   THERE IS NO CHOICE short of stepping completely out of the system, living on the outer most fringe of society and being that hermit with no claim to any of societies benefits. The choice at that point is ‘live under a bridge’ or ‘bite the bullet’.

I hate taxes. I hate what they have become.   I see hard-working bust their ass people struggle day in day out, under onerous inflation but still prideful of their ‘autonomy’.   Then I see some wastrel ne’er-do-nuthin’ methhead living on welfare with the best medical support and zero co-pay complaining that ‘they cut my foodstamps by $30/month’,,,,,    

The system has become so unbalanced, the economy so undermined and inflated, collapse is inevitable, and the only way to keep it going is by doing what they are doing,   Keep printing money.   AND that works only until it doesn’t anymore.    

wanna know when that point is?   Its not a set date, but it is a set point: when no one wants to accept our DOLLAR in exchange of payment of debt.

It’s like Russian selling NatGas ONLY in Rubles,,,,  Or China saying  “pay is Yuan, no dollar,,,”  Even the Saud’s have started accepting other currency, and backing away from the dollar (that built them into the empire they are,,,,)

And if you think that will alleviate the tax burden HERE,,,, Oh, how I laugh,,,   shits going to get even worse as the idjits in the swamp start really trying to keep head above water and pay those exorbitant service fees in 30+Trillion in debt, AND keep the SS recipients quiescent.   (it will be like the Saudi, paying the minority factions to NOT revolt,, bet ya didn’t know about that one did ya?)

SO SO so many variables in these endgames and so many NOT external to these Untied Statz,,,   And our ‘leadershit’ is our enemy, trying like hell to eliminate, replace or subdue us.  (NEVER give up your guns,,, Period,   I think that is the biggest lesson from our founders,,,  NEVER GIVE UP THE GUNS!). 

its (past) Time to harden the f%&k up: if you have the space, put in a garden.   Get some yardbirds, or rabbits (unless you have little girls in your clan,,, just sayin’) if you have more space, think bigger livestock.   I don’t think I need to tell anyone that FOOD IS A WEAPON that they will use against us, and when you ‘ain’t got it’,,,,   Get the book ‘Five acres and independence’; its dated but the information is also timeless at the base level IE when the balloon goes up,,,  

and FRICKING START LEARNING SKILLS!!!!!!!! Skills past your current job: learn how to drive a nail (I’m horrified at how many below the age of 30 DON’T know that skill) learn to use a handsaw because electric and batteries DO fail, and replacements may be decades forward in the future.  (worst case scenario, but when we are discussing these things WCS is the arbiter of the wise.).  Learn how to distill alcohol.   learn how to make sourmash to make the alcohol.   it has far too many uses beyond ‘entertainment’ to be forgotten about.   if you live near a farm that has lots of livestock, learn how to make glue.   if you live near a fishery, learn how to make fish-glue; waterproof glue for outdoor fabrications.  (look it up if you don’t believe me.). There is so much more that we have forgotten, that our ancestors took for granted, and unfortunately, many of them are dust.   but the internets are still with us, and there are sites that you can pull up those old books that still explain these things (in archaic language so you will get a further education,,,,)

And when we start the climb back up from this oncoming collapse, I hope that there are enough of us with the memory of what brought it on, to keep those that would ‘repeat the errors’ in check. (and if not, that we do the proper job of educating those that do make it to that point.)
