Son of Bossman turned the big ol’ Double Nickles today: I’m next, just not quite yet, ya might say.

Gave up on that silly singles app on my phone: Gonna keep the website profile active since access online is a bit more intuitive and a whole lot less money grubbing.   Seems everytime I wanted to access something on the app, they wanted me to pay more.   Sorry, NO, at that rate, its cheaper to rent than own, and at least with a rental I know that what I am paying for will be delivered.   If you are offended by that, no apologies from this old fart: fact is, its the second oldest profession in the world.  Oldest being PREIST. 

Like I said, I will maintain the online status, but checking in only online, not using the damned phone.  AND I am dropping hints in the profile of other places to look for me, OUTSIDE of that stoopid app.   Gotta be sneaky since the first time I listed the blogsite, it was edited out by the AI/moderator.   

And why lie, there are a couple of cuties on there.  May have only a snowballs chance in hell of hooking up, but if you don’t buy the ticket, ya can’t win, right?

The big double nickles.  55.   about 9 months out for me and while its ‘just another day’, this one “FEELS” different already.   Kinda like the big four-oh felt REALLY different, and not just because it was right on the tail of the break up.   Ended up being a nothing burger, many thanks to my neighbor Sara (not Hoyt, and not her real name) making sure I didn’t FEEL forty.  About killed all the college guys in that complex knowing the ‘old dood tapped that’ when they couldn’t get her to say ‘hey’ to them. LOL. Break ups are a lot easier if you get a good enough distraction,,,  just sayin’

nada much to talk about today.   Read a good article over at American Greatness.  Being a child of the Eighties, yah, we had it good and had no idea.   I look back at our movies, (FBDO, Fast times, etc) and then some of the shows I have seen that actually handle the era well (Stranger Things seas1-3. haven’t seen the rest yet) and I get to feeling a bit nostalgic.   

you can never truly ‘go home’ and those times are never coming back.  And in some ways, I don’t want them to.   My first computer had less memory than my Mac has in RAM.   My stinking phone has sixteen times more memory capacity and 1000 times more processing power.(and is one-hundredth the size)

And we didn’t have the Nets.   I remember doing research using the card catalogs and DOCUMENTING???  OMG,,,,    Cut and paste wasn’t even a thing yet.   and ALL of my reports had to be done on an IBM Selectric,,,  No Word, or Open Office, 

We have it good now too, with the exception of an ambulant corpse as (p)Resident and a shadow government that hates everything American,,,   We were coming out of a recession in the 80’s, and here we are deep into one but we have more to work with this time out.   I can only hope that Gen X is up to the task of “owning it” and making it right.

I guess we will see.   or be taking dirt naps.   pretty much either is equally likely at this stage.
