So, ends up as
Dead spark plug. Cyl 5. Infinite resistance between plug cap and electrode. Lead is good: tested with HEI tester and spark was a brilliant white/blue.
Just zero arc in the chamber: no fire.
And apparently it was failing during my drive home yesterday. Buffalo usually gets 18-19/gal on that run and when I filled up, the mpg was 15.7.
Easy enough fix (other than #3, and if you’ve ever worked on an S10, you know what I am talking about.) Just no parts stores close by, or open late enough today.
Guess ya know what Ol Dio is doing tomorrow,,,,
