So begins the learning curve
I thought I knew what snug meant. Awhelltotheno!!!

14 and a hair width internal cockpit. Getting in it is just like any other ocean type cockpit vs keyhole cockpit; feet first, legs straight and slidewigglesqueezesuckinthatgut. But once seated, this thing holds tight like a tick on a hound dawg. Thigh hooks are perfectly placed and I don’t think I touched the footbraces, but I also didn’t feel I would need them.
Oldskool, you knows it!!! Oh, and weight,,, try 22# 10 flippin kilos. And if ya think thats a mistake, look at the metric dimensions. 4 meters exactly in length (13’2″apx) width is 60cm, and cockpit width is 36cm. This boat is a Euro Slalom monster from someplace and time from my childhood. I would sure love to know the history of this boat, where its been, what races, who raced it, etcetc. *sigh* lost in time I’m certain. The guy I picked it up from knew nothing about it, picked it up in similar fashion to how I did (free to good home) and didn’t know much about the TYPE of boat or what it could mean. (He likes ‘wildwater racing’ vs Slalom: not much difference in locations, but huge differences in styles.
Leaks? Seam between deck and hull. Some of the gelcoat has split off and there are pits that need filled, but the seam is where the leaks are. The hull is solid. Some mushy spots in the deck that will need serious attention and I will want to update some things, like a rear pillar for entry support (to keep from causing those mushy spots) back brace, and different footpegs OR just a bulkhead rest and be done with it.(may just find a floatation bag that will fit down there and if you need more support, inflate it more,,, ) she definitely needs some work to be “presentable “but I dont think she is ready to be written off the books of the world just yet,,
I has a project for the winter, Woohooossss
