Long hot day
Started awesome, but by 1 the humidty was killin’ it in the shop. By 4:30, I was runnin’ dry,,
Go to pick up that freebie kayak tomorrow. Will know by end of day (or sooner) if the poor thing has hope, or has seen its last. But, the whole point of getting it is not to gain a kayak (though I wouldn’t mind yet another boat in the quiver) but to gain knowledge towards building one of my own in composites.
And this weekend is the Pigeon River Hooligan festivus among the gang I drink and float with. It’ll be my PFD, (personal first descent) aint n’er been, but everyone keeps saying “ya did two dry hair runs on Elkhorn, this is a cakewalk”
We’ll see. Seems I didn’t have a dry hair run on Buck recently and that was ‘a cake walk’ too,,, just sayin’. (And it wasnt my first tme there, just first time int THAT boat)
Anywhoos, I’ll update as I can over the next couple days, try to post pics of all the fun n games of glass kayak recovery, and what I can from getting splashy on Pigeon (VERY scenic area, no doubt, right on edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains )
