Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Commonsense prevails

At least here at the homestead it does, today anyways.   Went out to start tearing into truck repairs and took a good long look at angle of the sun to the horizon.   Yeah, may have 2 or 3 hours of daylight left, BUT

I am diving into a brake system I am not familiar with, (its that goofy dual system of rotors for stopping and a drum brake built in for the P-brake, which in this case is FUBAR and likely needs extra special attention.   It’s been one of those projects that has been on my backburner waiting me to do a brake job.). I just can’t see me getting the entire thing done, both sides, in less than 4 hours, not if I want it done right and not just slapping parts in place with a prayer.  I know my abilities, I also know that I haven’t been wrenching on a regular basis, AND I don’t have all the lovely pneumatics that I used when I did do it full time.   I am down to hand tools in most all cases. (Electric Impacts are a glorious thing though,,, )

So, here is the post that was on final approach,,,

MONDAY, OR ARE WE JUST THAT EXASPERATED?

I hatez the mondays; its always the same ol CF at work on mondays.  Everyone running amok like beheaded chickens, and it takes at least two hours for them to get their shit together and head out.  IN the meantime, I am the one slamming out “Oh!, I forgot to tell you I need XXXX made and this job has to be finished today.” parts.  And to top things off, Friday, we had a delivery (our first day of the weekend now) and NO ONE put anything away, so, THAT mess was in operation as well.

CHAOS CENTRAL, HOW CAN WE FUCK YOUR WORLD TODAY???

*sigh*

But, I survived, didn’t even threaten to rip anyones heads off and shit down their necks, got the last minute “oops” out of the way and even helped get the boys on the trucks and on the highway.  After that, It’s on THEM.

And Son of Bossman apparently got our welding supply situation taken care of, so I had the tools to do MY JOB today.  And I did so.

BUT, that was just our typical start of the week: it kind of grows on you, like a tumor or something.

The real point of the title was what I experianced AFTER work.   Bumped into a few peeps as I was off doing the stuff I needed to get done after work before I headed back to take care of Buffalo.   Some of these peeps are familiar territory to me, and usually, are quite nice.  NOT SO MUCH TODAY,,,   One caught me completely off guard: a checker at the store I frequent, total bitch mode, could not get a smile or even a kind word from her today,,,,   Time of the month?  Monday?  or just that frustrated with things.   And seeing how many empty shelves there were IN the store, I am quite certain she, being the ‘face of the company’ before the custom heads out the door, was taking more than some flak over things.    Take that shit for a few hours and even the sweetest of the sweet turn bitter.

As a country, we may not be hungry, but we sure as hell are getting inconvenienced, and we are probably the most spoiled rotten Country in the world.    I have to wonder when the temper tantrum kicks off.  Seeing empty shelves gives me the willies, and I think back to those days seeing pictures from Soviet Russia of people standing in line for ONE loaf of bread,,,   We aint there YET, but I wonder if it isn’t that far away like

BUT, then I read BCE’s post, and go look at the GiveSendGo account (and it is STILL going up,,,) and ‘inconvenienced’ or not, people are still doing GOOD things for others.  We still go to work, even if we aren’t able to buy the same amount of stuff for what we earn, but we are able to send “Something” to help save a little girl from evil.

Life goes on.   People carry on, and “This too shall pass”, as History attests time and again.  Sucks to be us, but, to be honest, I would rather it fall on my generation to fix this shit than to have it fall on our gran-kids. I may be slowin’ up, but I ain’t ded yet.

Different subject, Found a ‘cheap’ fiberglass kayak and will be picking it up on Friday.  Cheap being “come get it” and yeah, it needs some serious TLC.   Thats fine, its time for me to ‘go back to school’ and I would rather learn some of the finer points of fiberglass work on repairs, than a full out build that I might screw up in my ignorance.  I know its solid enough for a chance at redemption, but it ain’t perfect by any means.  The current owner advertised it with “It races faster than it sinks”

And I have zero clue what make or model it is, and don’t really care.   Its going to be my teacher for awhile, and thats good enough. (current owner doesn’t know either and there aren’t any HIN#’s to check.  Its at least mid-seventies since there aren’t any HIN#s). So, I has a project for this winter when the weather is too crappy to wanna play in my current boats. Yay me.
