Dammit!!!

Ain’t gonna lie, this was one morning where the guts said ‘get back in bed fool, aint nothing good to come out of this day’, and so far, they haven’t been wrong.

Started as I said it would, fixing that powered gate. Bad actuator(known fail) buy we have a couple extra units onnhamd, (all used) but no idea of which are good. Set up a test station and found the good, the ugly, and the shitte units. Went out and fixed the gate for the customer with a known good (but used unit). On return to shop, I tried going through the maker since this unit is less than 6 months old. Wanted an RA# and suddenly there were a ton of hoops to leap through, and not one that could be argued against (pics of install, details written out like weight of gate, etc,) buy the deal killer was ‘lack of technician license by our trainers”

Ummm, yeah, never attended a ‘class’ or anything and so far as I can see on their website. They have NEVER offered a training course. This is simple manipulation to avoid warranty claims. (And that the particular unit I have been dealing with has been notorious for failure over the other two models they offer,,,,)

Explained all of the above to Bossman and stated, “we’re eating this one” and he agreed,,, My opinion is we eat it, but NEVER purchase another unit from this maker,,, and slowly replace the fails with another manufacturer/brand. Not sure how to do that without losing our asses, but I don’t want to have to deal with the above maker again. (Name withheld to shield the guilty, but I will happily explain rat out whom in F2F ,,,)

But then I read BCE’s post today,,,

And I wanted to comment, but as I started typing, realized this is gonna be an entire post in its own right. Unfortunately I am still at the J.O.B. and what I need to say needs an honest to Dog keyboard under my digits, not this soft touch screen of a smaht-fone.

Stay tuned: once home, I’m tearing up the keypad on the Mac, and yes its really geared towards Big Country, but I think what I have to say could be construed for every single one of us, self included.
