nuestros bolsillos al revés
Yeah, theres gonna be a lot of this coming in our future. I’m already hearing people talking about Food Rationing becoming a thing again. Haven’t really seen that on these shores since WWII, and I would say that the attempt will go over like a lead balloon if its tried.
Second thought on that, with the whole rolling over of CoronaPhobia the last two years, I have to think it would be done with minimal trouble on the part of our Tyrants. And you know damned well that THEY won’t be doing without,,,,
But let’s look at what high fuel costs do to the economy, starting with Joe Blow Sixpack. Joe needs gas, and he’s down to a third of a tank. 12 gallons at almost $4/gallon. $50 dollar fill up, thereabouts. But he also needs an oil change. 5 qts of 5w30 and a filter. $65 HIS COST. Going to be closer to $80 to have it done for him. People are going to scream that the quick lube places are gouging, (betcha $5 I’m right) but with the costs of materials going up, because producing them from raw Crude has gone up because the cost of Crude has gone up, and the cost of shipping that Crude has gone up,,,,,
Can you see the chain of events? And thats just directly related to the cost of Crude oil. There are the other costs that take a few more days/weeks/months to enter the scene. Food costs start going up immediately due to transportation costing more, but the long term has more to do with the cost of production and that can take weeks to months to arrive on scene. Fertilizers cost more since most are made from petroleum products or Natural gas these days (The Germans back pre-WWII developed a way of making Ammonia from the air using tons of electricity, but in many cases that electricity is now supplied by NG and the best way to make Ammonia is also using that NG as a primary chemical. Double whammy.). And of course you have the fuel needed to power the tractors, combines, other equipment as well as the energy to provide all that water that most modern super-farms require in copious amounts. (can’t rely on mother nature to provide, she is a fickle bitch.). For those that don’t understand, ammonia is a key component to fertilizer along with nitrogen (ammonium nitrate), phosphorus, and other things. Without those, plants take longer to come to maturity and we start to see food supplies drop off. And not just people food but animal foods as well. Less to feed the cows, means fewer cows and suddenly those hamburgers at McDs are $7-10 each.
And people are going to bitch that they need that $15/hr to make ends meet, and the cycle goes to cancerous growth rates.
Be Kind to the local business that has to raise its prices. They aren’t trying to gouge you, they are trying to stay afloat in bad times and the cost of doing business is going sky high. Fully expect that many of these smaller places (like the one I work at) are likely to just shutter, and try to weather through to better times.
What I am seeing, despite the tsunami of inflation (will it be hyper? I am betting yes.) is that those that are in positions of power that can and DO have effects on the economy have ZERO clue just how fragile our Global system truly is. Its a very complex system, full of many fragile links and one disruption will be felt throughout the entire system. Break the supply routes, things get goofy, frig with the fuel systems, things get down-right stoopid, and start trying to implement price controls, and the people that actually make the system function, walk away.
They wanted a war: they managed to manipulate one up. They wanted control: they stole it and then didn’t know how to drive the vehicle. They want our compliance, without question.
They will NEVER have mine.
No matter how fucked up our world gets, I know my skills, and they are not just those of modern technologies. I know that if the time comes, I can walk into the woods and continue to survive, to await better times (assuming they don’t release the canned sunshine). And yeah, that’s selfish at the onset, but I can promise, I won’t be alone, and that when things start to get better, I will have surrounded myself with others that are capable as well. (you think the woods are empty? HA!!!! When they are the only way to keep upright and breathing, they will be loaded up with people that DO,)

But until such time as I feel pinched enough that my options are depleted, I stay on the edges of society, looking watching, thinking, and trying to WAKE PEOPLE UP. There is a simple solution that could be done, RIGHT NOW, but our ‘Betters’ have chosen to completely ignore it for their own delusional beliefs. We could open those oil fields back up, and get back to where we were UP TO Jan 19th 2021 when Xi-den, emperor poopy-pants the first (and last)(plus 10% hush money) executive ordered shut down of ANYTHING Orange-man bad. Since then (and I am surprised it has taken this long) shit has gone up and up and up, and they can’t see the damage they have done (nor would they take the blame if they did)
They mean to make us slaves, and this is just one way they intend to accomplish that. I firmly believe that is just one more aspect of their war on the “the people”. There is no scarcity as we witnessed prior to Jan ’21, unless some jackass tosses hand grenades into the works of a global economy. We are witness the after effects, but we have yet to witness the aftermath: thats still approaching like a Freight Train on fire.
