It’s witches teat cold,,,

I have some projects around the place that need attention, things other than kayaks, things to distract me from my addiction in a sense.   But also some that have been put off and put off for so long,,,,

Nothing important there, just simple labor on my part, maybe a little expenditure of lucre for lumber (or should I say RAPE of lucre in this economy. Have you seen the price of a stud 2×4?   sheesh!!!!)

I started my day jumping over to WRSA this morning.  Bad move.   All I saw was more posting by the doom and gloom about how “the narrative is failing but that doesn’t mean jack”.    I’m not going to link it just yet.(for one I am off line while tapping this out and two, I don’t care to kill any vibes that maybe we can beat this bullshit.).  I need to ride good vibes for a couple of days before I let the naysayers back in for assessment.   My biggest bitch about the doom and gloom crap: If the narrative of the ‘Rona/VaxxnottaVaxx is failing, then the narrative across the board is suspect and PEOPLE are taking note.   Stop beating the horse hoping for whatever, when its doing all it can to climb the hill out of ‘stoopid vallley’.   As Sarah says frequently “We win, they lose”.  It may not be the win the doomngloomers wish for, but damn, ANY win at this point is a plus.   As I say, perfect is the enemy of good, and good enough is sometimes the best you can hope for.    

So, today is mounting up that rack I made for my solar panels.   I already have a pole in place, just need to mount the rack and run some wire for the power to travel on.   Looks like a good sunny day and the weather is supposed to go above freezing for a quick minute or two.   I’ll be losing my flag pole in the process, but my ol’ Gadsden Flag is so weather worn, it looks like it has been through the revolutionary war, the Civil war and was dragged behind horses between both wars; She’s tired.   I need a new one, and will get it eventually.   When I do, it goes up the genny tower instead   I’ll hang it from one of the guy lines.

Another project is more an organization thing.  I need to get my shit organized so I know what the hell I actually own.  Last nights dig through wet/dry gear illuminated that I don’t even know what I have for hiking/camping/kayaking anymore.   Or more specifically, that I don’t know where it’s at.   Totally my own fault of being a lazy bachelor without many visitors so I let things slide, more than not.   Yeah, I am slob in that sense.   And I get distracted easily by the next project/plan/mad scientist experiment.  I need a partner just to keep my shit together.   Amy was good at that, and making sure I stayed fed.   Yes, there are times where I get so wrapped up in my latest and greatest that I don’t eat: sometimes for days.    At least the kids are really good about telling me THEY need fed, and that helps me stay fed to some extent.   I joke that its how I keep my scrawny self in shape.   That and busting my tail at work and kayaking like a mad man when I can get on water.  I do wind sprints on open water and moving a 17′ sea kayak at 6, 7, or 8mph on water takes a lot more than just shoulder muscles.  And I would bet that the next time I am on water, I will be lucky to hold 4mph.   I am out of shape, BAD; It’s been too long since I was last on water.   (And the Jess cup is in a couple weeks, but I can’t see me making that race, several reasons: out of shape, low income, long travel time and early start, just to name four.)

So instead of sitting here sharing my mind, I need to get the paws in action working on ‘things’ with ‘tools’ , not keys.
